They also mentioned a more commuter friendly hat. Which are words that have literally no meaning.

About the same time that Viasat actually has decent global coverage. Coincidence? I think not. 😁

I still think this can only mean optional or really really tinny “men on film” style. I give it 4 snaps in a Z formation

Actually lots of people care - and most importantly the people that pay you! In addition, look at page 5 of this month’s SEA base newsletter. Right in the middle of the page - PLEASE DON’T WEAR NORTH FACE JACKETS (OR EQUIVALENT) WITH YOUR UNIFORM. So, to reiterate, lots of people care and it is the captain’s job to enforce it. So, appreciate it if you don’t put me in the position of telling you how you need to dress. No need for no fly list. Just do your job that you’re getting paid well into the six figures to do and we will get along great.

Meh.

Hard to tell my FO not to wear a north face jacket in the van in boston when I’m wearing a north face jacket in the van too.

When it’s jacket season I have the jacket. But I do my walk arounds with a real jacket. When it’s not jacket season I have a nice jacket I wear in the van and on the walkaround when I accidentally go north.

But are you wearing it with your hat?

Absolutely. I'd like to attribute it to ignorance in a NH which can be easily corrected, but I flew with a SLI last winter who wore a big Columbia jacket and wore the hat. Totally unsat.

The uniform refresh is a golden opportunity for the company to finally give us a FUNCTIONAL winter jacket option (looking at SWA, for example), but they will not take it, and will continue to force a round peg in a square hole.

In the meantime, they leave the masses with no choice but to wear a smattering of (hopefully black) jackets on walk-arounds and in Transportation vans.

But Fangs, why do we need winter coats? We are an air line based in Atlanta and you don't need heavy coats in Atlanta. What? You're telling me we have bases other than Atlanta?

This is why I don’t wear my hat, ever

Problem solved

What ever happened to the black London Fog with the zip liner?

Yes. Black wool or wool blend, and, wait for it, single or double breasted. Another polarizing choice.
