Yes serious....I even put in my post to you.
You use an umbrella when doing walk around? Well If I ever see that on the walk around I'll know it's you because I haven't see a single person use an umbrella out on the ramp. My packable rain jackets fits into its own pocket and also fits in my bag....not rocket surgery. Never had any issue getting wet, sans umbrella. |

Thank you for validating my post. I know you don’t want to believe that you’re “that guy”, it’s a hard pill to swallow. Have fun making it through the SEA terminals handing out uniform demerits! Should be fun!

I also use an umbrella, so there are at least two of us

Honest question, so when you've got a 51 minute turn and the rain is blowing sideways with gusting winds and it;s your turn for the walk around, your taking an umbrella out into that to get turned inside out?

I'm going to start wearing this during my rainy pre-flights...

I own a good umbrella and never have trouble in any wind I’ve actually experienced. Your tropical storm experience may vary

Yea mine does. Some years ago I remember myself hilariously trying to do a walk around with an umbrella in some pretty windy conditions, and im doing my own little miniature 360's trying to stay angled into the wind, really im just pirouetting to myself like my daughter in ballet not even looking at anything trying to survive as I do the big 360 around the plane, water rushing off the back soaking me (there I was), and im thinking, yea. No more. Black REI raincoat it is, works every time. But seriously though, send a link to a decent small, lightweight, pack-able, unobtrusive umbrella that will withstand sideways wind.

Bottom line to all of you for whatever reason keep arguing with me about jackets - who is right and who is wrong? End of story. If you feel the need to not follow FOM guidance that’s on you, but please stop encouraging new hires to go out and buy North Face jackets cuz they going to end flying with captains that are not ok with that - present company included.
