I’ve not heard a firm date (not that it would mean anything anyways) but all signs point to the fleet staying at the current size until 2030. At that point things become much murkier and I’m sure it will depend on a variety of factors such as mx/engine overhaul costs, the economy, whether Boeing and Airbus can give us the new planes we’d want to replace the flying, etc.

Having said that, consideirng today is a federal holiday *and* they are probably going to do multiple runs to tweak how much training they have to do, I'm not holding my breath that they come out today.

On a recent Town Hall, Marketing Q&A regarding island flying says the bulk will stay on the 737 because of NPS reasons. There is little difference in NSP scores on island flying between the 737 & 320 fleets where in the domestic flying there is a much bigger difference in the NPS between the fleets. IOW, the island tourist flyers don't seem to be as fussy about what kind of plane they are on.
NEO owns the non-stop carribean flying out of NY. It is gone from the 73 and will remain that way. NEO will own the majority of the transcons from BOS and NY and vice versa. Customers are very happy with the NEO. NPS is whehter or not a customer will recommend us to someone else. Surveys conducted on targeted emails to both our HVC and non-HVC trend very favorably for the NEO experience. There's a difference.

NEO has only fully taken over the non-stops to Aruba, DR, most of PR etc since about June-ish. The only flying left to the 73 is UVF, STI (turns) maybe some other cats and dogs, but for the most part its been a planned shift from the 73 to NEO for the high density tourist routes from NY/BOS to the islands. The process I think started around March/Feb. This is from the NY base. ATL, a bit of a different story. Shorter ranges to Caribbean than NYC. But as the NEO comes online in greater numbers they will supplant the vast majority of the Caribbean flying from the ATL 73 as well. Not as much as what happened with the NY trips but it will be significant.

Fortunately for you, on a DL 737 you won't ever have to make even your worst enemies suffer.
