I was under the impression that NyQuil was a no go (drowsy threat) but DayQuil was ok.

Had never heard of Dextromorphin but it is on the FAA no go list, so no DayQuil either. Sudafed is still ok:

#Facts.

It's another thing to DH home on a mid-roation sick call though. But yes, please don't fly sick, or (selfishly) more to the point, pass it on to your coworkers.

I hear that.

However, sometimes you’re mid rotation on the wrong coast and just can’t clear your ears.

Shades of gray, but yes usually your point is a good one.

You can still call in sick and then get home. Just don’t trap someone else that close to you for 5 hours that is trying to work to provide for their family. You have no idea what health issues that their family may have, and what you give that person could put their loved ones in a bad spot.

Just don’t fly sick. Period.

This is the way. I called out mid rotation this year and it was no big deal. Got to pick my deadhead home and that was it. Didn't hear a thing.

And I do. When I’m sick.

Sometimes it really is just allergies…or insert whatever other euphemism.

That said, if I called in sick everytime something was less than 100% I’d rarely be at work. The young pups will understand soon enough 😂 Sometimes Sudafed does the trick.

One rule to live by after doing this enough cold seasons. Much better to call it early if in doubt than to do a couple laps to cruise altitude.

I read the post on Deltanet and my eyes welled up a little.
I don’t think I have ever been prouder of a group of pilots.
The best was when my category was second worse for sick usage at the company. One guy on the bid tree said we need to try harder, second place is first loser. Always strive to be first.

Congratulations to the ATL 765 guys and gals.

The instructors really need to pull it together. You were so close. I expect better performance next year.

This is so twisted.
I don’t care if my category wins an extra day or not, but I’m not actively rooting for more pilots to get sick so we show the man. Stay healthy everyone. Stay home if you’re sick.
