The flight attendants are trained to deal with the pax. We are not. If a pax won't listen to a FA's instructions they are gone. I don't need to go talk to them, and doing so would only serve to discredit the authority of the FA's as well as providing material for social media.

No one is asking you to go play referee. But you also don't have to be afraid of them.

This. I’m not afraid of interacting with passengers. But it’s simply not our job to get involved. This job is so much easier when you sit back and let other people do their jobs.
