Level 4 Security Event Diversion - ATL Today
I heard it on ATC comms and witnessed the A/C land on KATL 26R @ 13:07 EST today, while we were on a departure stop for inbound emergency aircraft. 1543 MCO-SLC diverted to ATL. Comms indicated an escalation from 3 to 4 during the final minutes of flight. A B-737 landed, proceeded to A concourse. Flight trackers show a significant turn from original NW trajectory east toward ATL, as the flight neared the west-central AL state line.
Continuation of flight now airborne, showing SLC just after 21:00 MST. In today's environment, it seems odd that ~170 folks with hand-held communication platforms have not issued some chatter, even if what we hear was blown out of proportion. Nothing on SM or the 'net as a whole. Total blackout. I'd say nothing happened, if not for having a front row seat. Enroute we queried an ARTCC and they'd haerd nothing, but committed to look into it. They came back and said "we have confirmation of an event similar to what you describe, but we cannot talk about it over the air."
Anybody know what's up? If somebody thinks what I've laid out here is SSI, tell me to S T F U, but it's all stuff any moron with eyes, the Internet and a VHF receiver could/would be aware of. I'm waiting for Tommy Lee Jones to knock on my layover hotel door with his "flashy thing."

I’ve been wondering the same thing all day. We heard the radio chatter in ATL and I expected to be getting texts asking about what happened by now.
I heard a harrowing news report a couple months ago about an airplane that went around. A concerned passenger described it as the pilot pulling the nose up rapidly and everyone being afraid. An aviation lawyer commented on how rare go-arounds can be. They promised to give more information as the story unfolded.
This gets nothing though. My assumption is it has to do with the deep state, aliens, or Epstein’s island.

Had an "incident" not long ago with 2 pax on our rest break changeover. I elevated it to the proper authorities via SATCOM. I don't trust anything these days. The leader of AQAP recently posted several videos online stating they are actively targeting. I'll leave it at that. Follow your procedures and if doesn't look right , or smell right, or you have that gut feeling about it, then do something. Still a threat out there and they are not stopping. Stay vigilant, follow procedure and trust your instincts.

"I was on this flight yesterday (1/15) MCO to SLC diverted to ATL due to an unruly passenger. He rushed the front to confront the FA in a threatening manner apparently for not receiving snacks as he was sleeping when they serviced his row. Apparently this moron then decided to smoke in his seat and the lavatory (marijuana) and would not comply with FA. We turned over Birmingham to land in ATL where we were greeted by HSI/FBI. Surprisingly, he walked off without incident.
Unfortunately for us, we had to deplane as either the crew threw in the towel or their time expired. After 3 hours waiting, we had a crew and were on the way. To my surprise, I received a proactive email from Delta CS containing 25k SM and the opportunity to submit any expenses. Delta doesn’t have to offer anything since this was manufactured by some idiot. The crew did a phenomenal job on remaining calm and professional while keeping everyone informed."

Imagine trying to smoke a joint in the lavatory and thinking no one would notice.
“Hey, it smells like the Denver/Las Vegas/NYC/SEA/PDX crew hotels in here!” (From non airline crew, obv.)
Checklist item “Ensure ample snacks are ready and available.”
Oddly enough, if the FBI is involved, he might be in big trouble for use of a controlled substance. A scofflaw…until it isn’t.
