Ha? Ain't me dude . I was hired back in early 90's . We had no DEI , Wokeness or weird use of pronouns back then, LOL. It was just every person for themselves. I don't pretend to be any pilot for another airline or troll , I just enjoy the conversation on all the forums. I'm old school, tail end of the baby boomers.

yikes
Can you imagine being a grown adult and so insecure that you knock a book youve never read?
it’s amazing how people can so confidently judge others when they haven’t walked in said shoes, whilst simultaneously crying to the world how people should empathize with their own situation.
you sir, live up to your name

Exactly. Read the back cover.
I hear a lot of same BS from the usual crowd about "diversity hires" and the quality of our new pilots. Well here you have it, diversity done right. Dude is just trying to be a role model to young black kids and trying to get more people interested in this profession.
Now, if you fly with him and he happens to be a douche then ok, roast him as an individual
On the book, I willing to bet none of us have read it. We don't know if he takes credit for every aspect of his success. If he's humble enough to acknowledge forces outside our individual control or the influence of other people in our success. So, holding off on judging the book.

I mean, I’m sure the guy worked hard to get where he’s at but let’s be real. He got hired at the most hireable time in aviation history and spent like no time at a regional. The “grind” for him was nothing compared to what others had. Again, I’m sure he’s faced challenges but spending a year at a regional and a year at Atlas isn’t a challenge.
But who cares about that? It used to be hard to get water in your house and put food on the table because you had to hunt/farm it yourself. Someone always had to worse/harder than you, but that's not really the point. You don't know all the other challenges they faced (societal, familial, etc...). This book may not be meant for all the boomers, gen-X or even millennials. Though, I bet some could stand to read something like this and learn a little bit more about the idea that not everyone faced the same struggles as them. Or maybe it is severely overblown and not worth a read. I bet someone out there relates and it may help them go down a path they didn't know was possible. I guess there are always those who love to cut people down, but let them go write their own book, nothing is stopping them.
I know I'd rather fly a trip with someone like this over the type that just wants to deride him for writing a book. I have no doubt I'd learn something from him.

All I know is he better tread carefully with his instagram tactics. Drops a book and a few days later some “random” insta burner account calls him the N word in his pm’s and he posted it for clout. Bro is giving me serious Jussie Smollett vibes. If any major news network gets a hold of that and he needs to start providing evidence that could be a really bad look for Delta.

My boy! I thought the same thing. I missed you!
How these influencers don’t violate Delta’s social media policy is beyond me.
