Yes, being a commuter for years and now recently moving to base I haven’t had the opportunity to capitalise on great seniority nor did I always want to be grabbing green slips but my time will come. Young kids at home and finding a balance between $$ and a happy family is a tough game at times. For the time being flying my schedule and being home as much as possible is what works or WBB reserve this past winter allowed that too.

Seems to be category dependent. My NBA category has been very slow for months.

color me confused but if you’re senior enough to hold day trips (or essentially trips that you can bid pairing number and date), what’s the advantage of placing them on the swap board? Seems like the best thing to do would be to always bid for late month flying and use that and the bad/worse formula to get high credit low block trips close in instead.

It's a little bit of both. Either way, it's the swap board, PDs, Swap w/pot, then IVDs/APD as a last resort. One month last summer, I was able to PD my entire schedule and we still had a SSapalooza. It's weird like that sometimes. You don't need great coverage, just close coverage and a little flexibility.

Thankfully, starting this year, weekends are just another day in my house. In fact, we prefer to do stuff during the week when it's quiet.

Fair enough, I got creative last summer but my category is very small. Wide body B in a small base for it so sometimes my options are limited. When I go back narrow body b before long it may open up a bit more.

Curious to hear your reasons for leaving WBB back to NBB

Not enough diversity of flying in my base, feel like a zombie all the time, in my Mid 30’s so not going to do it forever. I know, they have advantages and disadvantages it just hasn’t been a great fit for me and my body. Also, going Nb a not nb b.

That sounds like something someone junior to me who wants "my" greenslip would say....
