It didn't change the pull down provision at all. There was arm twisting at the MEC to get the extension.

It was foolishness to negotiate for it in the first place. Were you the guy who negotiated for it? Or maybe just live in Orlando.

VBs "helped" (in a very superficial, short-term, and unpredictable sense) a very small number of pilots, and would have harmed every other pilot in categories containing a VB if they had stayed around. This has all been adjudicated. I would have hoped we learned a lesson from this concession, but I guess not all of us have.

Saw it with my own eyes. This was happening when the rumors BOS 320 was going to be announced back in the spring. Sheetrock work was done to some office spaces, and wires were pulled all over the place, along with most of the storage items that had been there being removed (assumably to enable the work). Not much has happened in the past few months from what I see, and the space is a mess, but it does exist.

VBs "helped" (in a very superficial, short-term, and unpredictable sense) a very small number of pilots and would have harmed an unknown and unknowable larger number of pilots in every category containing a VB if they had stayed around. Or it was a vocal minority who was worried the majority would try it and like VB, thereby moving your "cheese." Coupled with pettiness from our union, it was pulled down. Even though it was allowed by the agreement, when the union bowed to the vocal minority, it was not in good faith.

This is not correct. Lots of bad info about the whole VB debacle. There were both Pros and Cons - it was not one sided and the only conceivable "harm" was less deadheading which applies to any base opening.

Why is anyone willing to exchange ANYTHING in this contract? We have a ton of catching up to do with the previous generations' contracts in both pay and QOL. No concessions.

the credit, and not just DH credit, had to be pulled from somewhere. That somewhere would have been existing 7er bases. That equates to worse trips (less credit), fewer pilots required at Delta, and worse qol. The setup was 100% negative for permanent base 7er pilots. And that was only the first VB. There would have been more VBs, in different categories….

we dodged a bullet.
