problems that people who just fly their schedule and aren't wracked by FOMO never have When I’m senior i still can’t hold greenslips, they go to junior pilots on IA! |
Have you tried being more junior?

If this is a significant cost then more farmers, successful or not, make more IAs and eventually QS so there’s financial incentive both for the individual and the union to get more people putting in blankets. The problem has to have substantially higher costs before the company cares IMHO. Also QS has already eliminated auto accept if/when implemented. There’s little chance we walk back that freedom for the company and inconvenience for us.
QS allows them to bypass auto-accept, but for a price. It’s the same price they already pay to bypass auto-accept using IA. QS simply provides a fairer, seniority-based outcome for pilots. Whether the company cares about the cost or not, it’s already a significant amount that can be leveraged in section 6. |

Well, let’s say the cost doubles and the company now “cares”. What are they going to do about it? It’s not a controllable cost item for them. They can’t choose to follow the ladder and make the cost go away without delaying flights for hours or days.

they used to all the time back in the day as i'm sure you recall. It was very rare to see an IA on trip coverage. Now maybe stuff like reroutes and side deals happened more in the shadows and it was harder to tell..not sure, but I've had a ton of GS that reported in less than 2 hours and it was no issue. that was up until about about a year ago then a major shift seemed to happen

My estimate was 7.5m a month not accounting for PB days, RES IAs driving more IA/GS later in month.

Just put in a WS and all OBWSs. You'll sleep like a baby and never even know you are getting paid for 3 trips until you wake up fully refreshed in the morning. Check out 73NA. It's day 1 and there is a guy that already has 3 23M7 pay trips.
