I believe Article 8 also says you can be fined. I’d love to see one of these a-holes fined for the amount of the trip they made a deal for.

Quick slips are coming. Rumor is sick leave usage is up 300 percent since verification was eliminated. The company is trying to get verification back as fast as possible. Can’t do that without quick slips.

Didn't most of them get their jobs back with back pay?

I heard 3 of the 4. But I heard the opposite. They had to pay the company back for the wages they “stole” from the company as a condition of getting their job back. Totally unverified.

It’s been a particularly brutal flu season. I highly doubt that many are calling in sick simply because lookback is suspended.

The company has a redundant verification program in place anyway. Talk to your CPO and they’ll freely admit that GFB rates are higher.

I do hope we see QS sooner rather than later. But I’m not holding my breath.

As long as the increased rates of GFB calls are in "good faith", I guess that's ok?

Nothing about the program has ever been “good faith” from the beginning. Show the anonymous drones in Pilot Leaves any sick call, and they’ll come up with a reason why it’s “suspicious”. The percentage that the company chooses to GFB is completely up to management.

Regardless of the outcome, pilots were now in position for SC. I suspect we could achieve a similar outcome if (hopefully when) stories about deal makers suffering consequences started appearing. Find the top 10 most egregious deal makers, throw the book at them and let the rumor mill take care of the rest. We don't need to name names, just confirmation of consequences for anonymous deal makers.

ok everybody. Hang on.

so I cleared this up a while ago with some people in the occ and ALPA, but there are a few things going on here.

1. yes calls start at the bottom and go up on a IA. Inversely some would say.

however

2. they do not call one at a time or all at once. They call in batches. I was told that’s a limitation of the dialer . They don’t have 600 phone lines. That means a guy 50-100 senior to you on the list gets called the same time as you. So he might get it if he magically gets connected before you and it NOT be deal making. It’s just first come first serve to those that got the call at the same time.

3. the dialer can only call so many people at once, so that time in the message is when the batch started. If it was 10 minutes ago then yes the first group might have already been called and it might be gone

4. guys complaining that people junior to then got it. Yes it’s inverse. And first come first serve of those that callback, so it’s a combination of luck and being junior enough to be in the first batch. Weekends seem to be easier.

5. Yes asking for another trip while you’re on the line is deal making.

6. Yes most of us are getting screwed. And hopefully QS will reintroduce seniority into this until we can maybe get a better permanent resolution later (wishful thinking)

there’s no trick that’s not deal making. If you’re too senior to get a IA then you can maybe get a m7 with OOBWS. But when you see number 150 on IA3….. make your own judgements..

I am quite frankly amazed that a company so pro-technology (official airline of the sphere) is using a dialer that has to go in batches and we are answering phones like its 1997.

I don't want to give up any leverage in upcoming negotiations but if the company actually wants to save and make money (like they say they do with holding back on pilot hiring while growing block hours, push hard for single engine taxi in the newsletter, limit APU usage, and then tell me to wait for the entire plane to unload to get those "thank you for flying with us" in to get NPS scores up) and they do not completely overhaul their outdated icrew scheduling system and ancient arcos system for filling open time I will not be able to take any of their savings and profit gaining strategies very seriously. Trip over dollars to pick up pennies I think is how the saying goes

This is definitely a problem, and it is not on the pilot group or ALPA to fix. I haven't been here for long, but I get the feeling they probably don't have a solution or a plan.
