That’s exactly why I prefer commuting on other airlines. I’m usually treated better as an off-line jumpseater elsewhere than I am on a PS ticket on DL.
Most other airlines have a “take care of your fellow employees first” culture. The anti-union games that Delta management plays have resulted in a bizarre culture among the non-cons.

Next commute, on the JS again, gate agent let's me scan on before boarding starts so I can go check in with Captain. I go down, it's the Captain, and 2 FA's down there, still waiting on the FO and 2 more FA's. No biggy. I check in with Captain, show her my docs and stuff and say I'm gonna store my bags and I'll see you near the end of boarding (I don't like to hover around as a JS, the crew has got work to do and I don't want to be in their way or be a distraction). I go back to put my bag up, Now the other 2 FA's are there. They toss their bags, one in a 1st class bin the other in the first row of C+. I go to stash my bag next to the one in C+ and one of the FA's comes up to me and tells me I can't put my bag there. I tell them well, I'm in JS, part of the crew and this is where I normally store the bag on this type of aircraft. She says you can't put it there, it has to go back in main cabin. I said fine. So I walked my bag back to like row 25 and put it there. Of course when we get to gate I have to swim up stream to get my bag out.
I don't get it anc, never used to be like this. I commute a lot on United and Jet Blue as well as SWA. Never, never do I get that sort of treatment from them. They are nice, cordial and go out of their way to help out the commuters. Our "team" is like from another world or something. It's getting old.

It shouldn’t take that much effort to board a DL flight with a PS ticket. His rotation should have been no-oped before it even started, due to the MCT violation.
Be sure to collect assignment pay for the illegal rotation (assuming you reported the MCT violation more than 2 hours prior to sign-in), AND ensure that they identify an affected pilot and pay them as well. They always try to skip that second step.

After the way this illegal (MCT violations galore) trip went down, first they wouldn't release me from trip 18 hours out when they could have legally rebuily and re coveraged it, then gets better being denied boarding for a scheduled DH TWICE in MCO after getting RR'd in ATL with a trip that hit OT 5 hours out with multiple available SC pilots, that caused me to be flown back to not the airport of origin neither the scheduled (JFK) or the one I DDH'd from (EWR) AND because of the double denied boarding, it was after the trains stopped running either to home, or where my truck was (EWR), and they never scheduled Skyhop to get me back to JFK (buddy offered me his car to get home as he is in ATL for sims) I ended up having to have my wife drive to LGA then drive me to EWR then drive my truck home.
"You weren't here when I called you" (I was parking at gate next door. I got to gate when zone 3 was boarding) was Gate Agent #1s reason for denying boarding.
"We are oversold you cant possibly expect me to remove a paying customer" was Redcoat on denial #2
They can stew. All my slips are pulled.
CS can burn. I don't care anymore. If the company goes bankrupt. Oh ****ing well. I'm done caring.
I got home at 4am after a 1000 van, expecting a one leg to ATL and DH to EWR and done by 1700, home by 1830.

I'm confused CX, the redcoats comment, was that a DDH or a scheduled DH? If you were DDH then the red coat is correct. If it was a straight up DH then they were wrong.
Regardless, I feel your pain. Our "team" is terrible and they really really hate pilots. That's my summation of the last 8 years or so. Never seen it this bad here.
As a parting shot to the red coat and angry gate agent I would have quipped "You're welcome for the profit sharing".
Make sure you send in a STS or whatever they cal it these days. Someone should have been paid for your illegal rotation (MCT violation).

If it’s mid rotation and the gate agent doesn’t want to board me on a scheduled DH I just say ok. I take a seat, watch the flight push then monitor flight aware to watch it take off. THEN I call tracking and ask what they’d like me to do.
Not my job to educate gate agents.

Orig Trip
DH JFK-ATL, 12 min turn they found 20 magic, unrealistic MI to claim legal MCT.
ATL-SJU, layover
SJU-ATL
ATL-MIA, layover
FLL-ATL
DH ATL-LGA
Ground DH JFK
I DDH'd EWR-ATL and ATL-EWR front/back
Day 1/2 went more or less as planned minus time lost due to unrealistic connection times.
Day 3, taxiiing in at ATL. ACARS starts printing. They won't park me until I acknowledge.
Now Day 3
FLL-ATL
RR ATL-MCO after 3 hour sit (there were 5+ on SC in ATL)
25 min connection to MCO-JFK DH
Denied boarding.
RR to MCO-LGA DH
Denied boarding.
Call DP. Crew tracking was useless.
supposed to have ground DH to JFK. Nothing. No van. No answer from crew accommodation. Skyhop had nothing. (Friend had car at JFK he gave me the door code for)
Wife drove in at 1am to get me.
Stopped at EWR to get my truck. Finally home at 4am.
Then up at 8am to watch Hockey.
Too late to get on last train home or to EWR. Uber from LGA was showing 1+ hours to pickup to take me either home or EWR employee lot.
"Thank you for all you do"
If I wasn't denied boarding it would have been annoying but airtrain to Jamacia, LIRR to Penn, NJTransit to EWR, home by 10-11.

I hear yah. It's gotten worse over the last 6-8 years. Commuting to my trip the other day, I was in the JS. Gate agent would not let me go down to check in with the Captain. Said I had to board in Zone 8. Fine, whatever. I'm not gonna argue with the gate agent in front of pax. Needless to say it was a cluster once I finally got down to the aircraft.
Next commute, on the JS again, gate agent let's me scan on before boarding starts so I can go check in with Captain. I go down, it's the Captain, and 2 FA's down there, still waiting on the FO and 2 more FA's. No biggy. They are nice, cordial and go out of their way to help out the commuters. Our "team" is like from another world or something. It's getting old.

Assigned trip 18+ hours out. Reported it as illegal due to MCT at that time. "You're flying it, goodbye" Jetstream filed before report.
