I fly better than I race Supercross.
Of course we will see tomorrow if I still remember how to ride at all, as it's the first open practice of the year at Englishtown NJ's raceway park MX. Been off the bike (other than just rolling around/minor testing) for 2 years since a bad car accident.
I also brew beer.
I am a man of many redneck talents. For those who have seen "The Big Bang Theory" my wife describes me as Redneck Sheldon. Or the most overeducated redneck on the planet.
I went to engineering school because one of the best suspension guys in the world (Rick Ziefelder) who owns a well known suspension shop (Factory Connection) and owned a race team said I should probably go to engineering school because I was asking questions about how suspension works from a fluid dynamics standpoint way beyond what he was expecting out of a redneck farm kid who happened to be stupid fast on a dirtbike, mostly because I was doing the math in my head of what could and couldn't work on the fly. As a backup plan in case being a pro motocross racer didn't work. Probably was his nice way of saying, you are fast, you are pro fast, but you aren't "I'm going to retire at 30 off of race winnings fast". But the engineering background coupled with being able to go 97% speed of the "real pros" has paid dividends over the years as I've been one of the few suspension guys who when a rider doesn't like how something is riding, but couldn't articulate it past "the forks suck, the shock is wonky" who could hop on the bike and push it close to that speed.

Of course I yellow slipped the unpopular 2359-0859 SC time trying to free up my schedule. Nope.. Bastards gave me 1000-1600 SC. I can technically sit SC at the track, but I don't want my truck sitting at the JFK or EWR employee lot with $18k of dirtbike and $2k of tools in it for 5 days. I need to use the PS check to buy a Sprinter it seems. (currently have 2 pickups, and a 45 foot trailer which is a bit much for a 1 day event)
Some days I really wish we had an "open most days" place to ride here vs "open random days" that we have.. We had a nice place right over the border in East Stroudsburg PA, but the Legion of Karens that moved out there during COVID when tele-commuting became more common shut down Back9 MX. Which was a great family run place.

Even if crude prices retreating, jet fuel still high. Jet A probably will lag due to refinery constraints.

Not to spread FUD, but Kuwait and Qatar have declared force majeure on oil/LNG contracts.
As I understand it, it's because there's no shipping available to deliver it. Producing more of a product that you can't store makes no sense.
So much obfuscation out there it's impossible to know what's actually happening. At the receiving end, it's either delivered on schedule or it's not. Time will tell.
At the very least there will be a logistics snafu for a few weeks/months. I remember when this happened during COVID and there were 100+ shipping containers off the coast of LGB for a month or so. That sorted itself out.
(If I knew which way to bet I wouldn't be pushing buttons on command like a trained monkey for a living.)
