Remember when we flew empty airplanes to set a one year record? That completion factor was an integral part of the Delta brand premium. On a recent OCC tour it was not a secret that we have fallen from our lofty perch. Management sees it's broken, but doesn't know what to do. On a related note a long time OCC manager is or will be taking over CS. He knows it's a 5H1T show and hopefully has enough internal pull to make changes.

Yeah, not really doing the damage to our reputation you think it is. In fact, I wouldn’t even call it a blip on the radar. Sorry, Reddit forums and travel blogs aren’t even 99% of the pax who feed the DL bottom line.
Love or hate DL marketing, but they have the country convinced that Delta is premium whether you think it is or isn’t. Reputation changes take a decade or two to acctualy swing. The cancellations will be solved once a solution to scheduling arrives. In the meantime, we’ll continue to have better arrival times, least baggage loss, more clubs, better soft service, yada yada.
So, when Delta leads the industry again at the end of 26’ regarding premium and profits, after a full year of these “egregious” cancellations, maybe you can admit it is a nothing burger.

We will be the only airline giving a non trivial amount of Profit sharing next year, thanks to the Refinery.
Also folks, the true number that matters is PTIX, because that determines profit sharing. Delta Q1 PTIX was slightly higher. Everything else is just noise unless you're an airline analyst

I'm not saying the sky is falling - yet - but you can't sit here and tell me this operation is as good as it was 2013 - 2018

My money is on Ripinpeace. There's a difference between drinking koolaide and just hating to hate
Delta has amazing IT=Koolaide
Delta isn't a Premium Airline=Hating just to Hate
All you Naysayers....if you can even get in ....go into the Delta One lounge at iconic JFK and tell those folks Delta isn't a premium product.

We don't have that now. In fact we haven't had it in several years.
We're sliding backwards and it only takes one little hiccup and the dominoes start falling
The realization that there's a problem has percolated to the top. He cares, so saying "it's fine" like you are is bordering in lunacy. The top guy has gotten his attention

Back in the day trip RA knew one thing, before we could become a force, we first had to build a stable reliable operation

ATL 717B was a complete disaster the last 2 weeks. Dozens of trips in OT every day, tons of QS and IA going out. Things finally calmed down this Tuesday, but it’s picking up some as we approach the weekend. What’s amazing is that it has been this bad with barely a cloud in ATL in 2 weeks. I don’t know what will happen once we get into pop up thunderstorm season.

When you're cancelling/delaying Athens, Milan, CDG etc due operational issues it starts to add up Trip. All what you mentioned grinds down when you are unreliable

It's a good reminder about institutional memory.
When RA was the boss, he turned an airline that had RJ operator gate issues, APU obsessive fuel discipline, crazy airplane swaps, etc. into a finely tuned Swiss watch.
I'll also note that premium pay was pretty rare, and "rolling thunder" was unheard of.
What do pilots want? Infinite premium pay without killing the golden goose but kind of a cripe product?
Or a great airline with good salaries but no premium pay and a superior product?
