Foul: once they pick the domicile for the 0xxx rotation they should have to keep it there- quit fishing the different bases for the sucker who will fly your short notice trip as a ws, only to send it out as qs at 0200.

its time to put out the gumpster fire.
How do you know they didn't start coverage earlier? And becuase of the 80 pilots who had OOBWS in, it took 16 hours just to get through that step?

Different bases....you mean the PWA allowed "Y" trips for OOB Reserve use only?

Agreed. But the company will keep doing it because pilots accept them on a regular basis.

If the airline called a pilot on a working trip in the hotel at 2 am with a reroute reporting in 3 hours that would include 3 working legs, every pilot would laugh and hang up.

But if it's at home and more money is involved, somehow, magically, there is no fatigue.

Not pointing fingers here.

What's illegal on the road is somehow AOK with pilots when they're at home.

While I get your point, there’s a big difference. One pilot volunteered to be called. Turn on the slip, and that call at home does not happen. Just saying.

But you have a point.

This is spot on. With ALPA‘s origination beginning with Safety, I honestly am shocked that they haven’t pushed this most important aspect of all. If we have a hull loss tied to fatigue, you better believe all the ARCOS notification data will be discoverable and very relevant.

They are 100% shopping trips around and not designating them as Y. They are in pure survival mode because they know we will not catch the majority of backend movement like this.

Within 8 they can go to QS and cover it hours out. They choose not to. They broke trip coverage. Not up to us to fix it.

From a previous airline I use to work for... Safety first, profits firster. They dont actually care about safety, they just care if they get their management bonus.

I’m shocked the flight ops safety department is not weighing in on this too.

That’s a valid point, but because someone volunteered is not going to be a good enough answer to stay out of hot water. I’m not a Debbie Downer, but we need to be more careful for the sake of safety and protection for ourselves.

When you sign the release your saying at that moment your fit to fly. They won't push back on revenue management unless its egregious
