3. All these SS are crap bid packet trips. Why fly a long, crappy trip (that also reduces your chances of 23m7, see above) when there are so many easy, broken trips going out via QS/IA? You can fly a crappy 3-4-4-3 4 day trip or 2, 2 leg QS on the same days for the same pay.
I like the silver slips...yeah the trips suck but at least I know what I'm doing often weeks in advance and I can plan around it instead of waiting for last minute GS/QS.

They've actually been putting some good trips up for Silver Slip. The problem is, for the bottom 90%, SS rarely make it past the top 10% in category and never make it past the first PCS.

well considering staffing is so bad tha with the pre posted rest crap only the top few people can drop trips, it does not help but only the uber senior.

I generally sit reserve so I’m somewhat ignorant on this subject. How does pre-posted rest stop line holders from dropping trips?

A RES pilot with pre-posted rest shows as unavailable. This can change a blue-day black, especially when CS pre-posts rest on every pilot on their last day of a block. I've seen 6 pilots at a time have PPRest on the same days-of-availability grouping.

Black days (or even 25% level) = no drop, no APD, no IVD.

Then, when CS needs that pilot, the PPRest magically disappears. GRRRR

PWA 23.U.8 says " A pilot awarded a silver slip will receive single pay and credit, plus single pay, no credit, if flown."

Mid seniority and I've flown 4 silver slips in the last 2 bid periods.

Hint: Unless a pilot has 24 hours of availability, they don't show on the available grid. There are more reserve pilots than the grid shows.

this makes sense. So PP rest affects reserve levels and thus no can drop trips or reserve days. Thank you
