Yes, it is possible. Yes it is a HUGE pain. You must call, on chat they can't do it. Expect issues. I have had the unfortunate experience of doing this multiple times because we amassed a large quantity of e-credits due to a cancelation fiasco we had to suffer through. If the e-credits are in multiple family memeber's name expect even more hassle.

In my experience, I was able to do it via the text chat. It took over an hour of messaging to book 4 round trip tickets.

Oh good, glad it worked for you. That's part of the problem too though, the lack of consistency. One agent tells you "no, not possible," another says "sure, no problem."
