Back, way back in the day....

Husband (Captain SierraHotel) laying in bed with his wife.

Phone rings on the nightstand (old-fashioned kind).

CA SierraHotel: "Hello"
Crew Scheduling: "Is this CA SierraHotel?"
CA SierraHotel hands phone to wife and says: "Hey, somebody's looking for your husband!!"

Far as I know, true story!

That story is as old as the one where the CA pulls the jet back into the gate after being told of long delays, retires on the spot and walks off the jet.

Folks need new material.

Or the one about the FO (always described as “a girl”) who answered the phone during taxi with an FAA person in the JS.

Or the one about the guy who refused to cut his ponytail.

Biblical truths! She got fired, the moral of the story is only women answer and talk on a "phone" so don't be that guyette.

Wow, she's not too bright - she went on to get hired at AA and did the same thing again. It's absolutely a true story - I heard it straight from a check airman in the schoolhouse!

Giving up control of your own body to a corporation is a big ask. It's one thing to give it to the military, is another thing to give it to your boss. Idk why so many pilots take specific pride in giving it up. It makes them feel special I guess.

Respect to pony tail guy for keeping his autonomy intact

Previous carrier we had a guy who was Native American. He had a 2 foot ponytail and he kept it braided, wrapped and pinned up under his hat. Everyone was cool with it even before it was cool to be cool with it. Awesome dude, loved flying with him.
