i hope you ran that by his parents first my dude…..

my category actually has decent reserves for the first time in 9ish months. Yes rest will nuke it but still 50-75% more reserves available than any previous month in a very long time

Yes. I ran it by parents. They both ride. Grandpa bought the bike, I fixed it up and another uncle bought him new riding gear. Shockingly most of my family ride dirtbikes.

I know. Evil uncouth rednecks and I should have a higher class hobby like pickled pickleball or golf.

Your hobby could be anonymously harassing pilots based on their social media content...

Was there a decrease in hours this month? Or is it the new hires (who may not actually be available in reality) who show up on the roster

Can someone explain the rest change Delta made and how it affects availability? I sort of understand the PB day changes

By pre posting rest, the company lowers the reserve available on the reserve availability matrix. It artificially restricts all pilots from executing their contractual guaranteed schedule adjustments. And only the company has the discretion to place and remove rest. The reserve pilot is then restricted from exercising their seniority to select trips they otherwise could fly

Yup. They now give 24hrs rest before an assignment so that reserve pilots can’t pick up a GS on their last day off. Total BS.

Negative, being released into rest 24 hours before an assigned rotation is automatic and spelled out in the contract. Its arbitrarily pre-posting 30 hour rest periods (and sometimes moving them or taking them away) a month ahead of time that is a recent change to longstanding practice.

Even on a fairly normal Sunday, we're still leading the world with 45 cancellations already today. 7-8 years ago 45 cancels even on a bad weather day would be extremely rare.
