It takes 6.9 seconds to furnish it for TSA/Gate Agent/Captain. If it's so airline employees give "one of us" treatment (I.e. FAs asking if you want a water)... your Luggage Works bag, black dress shoes/black pants/collared shirt likely gave it away.

I rock my hot pink/purple airbus lanyard from toulouse, unless there is an alpa contract lanyard. But I do have my alpa pin on my tie. Gotta keep sticking it to company with my hot pink/purple manufacturer lanyard unless the union one is more obnoxious... lol

They changed the FOM to require basic colors (Blue, Black, Red, White) after the Lime Green lanyard campaign of C19. Surprised they didn’t do it after the Orange of C15 TA2…

That said, it only says the fabric has to be that color. The box with lettering can be bold typeface and Yellow if they want. Make it like the LCA/SLI lanyard, big yellow box with APLA and rhe phrase of choice. Perfectly legal! The more obnoxious the better!

I managed to find an old FOM pdf from early 2019, long before the lime green lanyard came out. The color restrictions you quoted were already in there. The restrictions were added during the orange C15 campaign. The lime green lanyard was never compliant.

We should be giving as much regard to uniform policy as management gives to our contract, especially during protracted negotiations.

I guess I forgot which 'loud' lanyard campaign drove that change, just that it did. Thanks for finding that.

Yeah in the 7 years I have had it I have never once been asked about it and been into talk with many ACP's/CP's during that time. It's an official AB lanyard so they really can't hate the game.

Every time I see someone else with the yellow bag tag I make it a point to let them know how good it looks. (Then I talk to the tag and tell it “thanks for showing up today!”)

I put the ALPA pin on my lanyard. That way blazer season or not, the ALPA pin isn’t forgotten.

Also 6.9 seconds to pull out an ID from a pocket / bag / behind a zip-up jacket. Or, you just ask for the discount.. airport employees can tell who "incognito pilots" are just about as easy as we all can.

I've been wearing my ALPA lanyard since the day ALPA handed them out. As a very young and clueless pilot at my regional I went to an ALPA council meeting with my sim partner (upgrading CA) and learned a lot about ALPA and the importance of unity.

I used to wear a pin in my tie but it would always get caught on shoulder harnesses, etc. so I got out of the habit. Is everyone putting the ALPA pin over that red design thing they put on the tie or somewhere else?
