Probably because its a disporportionate number of mil folks getting the "OTS" call in the first place. Most civvies so far are SSP/Flows, which don't have to complete that part in the first place.

Guy/gal has "All the right stuff", interview/eval show them to be the exact personality that they want to avoid, subterfuge and misdirection to let the candidate "die on the vine". Just because someone has all the boxes checked, doesn't mean that is all that counts, companies are looking beyond basic qualifications and using different methods to redefine their choices. Simply, "we don't want to hire any more booger eaters"......

Knowing some of these guys…many of them warriors who have done some stuff that we trained for in the 80s and 90s and never had to do…I can assure you at least some of these guys are far, far from booger eaters. Cold hard killing machines? Maybe. That's why I ****ing like them. But they ain't weak pilots, and they aren't weak people, and if Delta passes on them it will be the company's loss.

Unfortunately what we value in one job may not be valuable in another. I was held up and have a buddy being held up and we'll never know why other than we have a lot in common. Maybe you can crack the code on this and help the future bubbas!

I have a friend who is in the holding pattern right now. He's one of the most laid-back, level-headed guys I ever flew with. If delta takes a pass on him I'll be supremely dissapointed.

Booger eaters was a concept. People who can't be intimidated by the machine and aren't motivated by money are very hard to control, and corporations very much want to control their people, it makes their jobs easier.

He actually lost a library book on the flight into the river. He went back to the library and reimbursed them for the book.
