Ferd,

In a perfect world everyone should have their own plates!:D There are 2 ship sets that are alternate/divert airports. If neither of you has the divert airport then look in the ship set. But both of you should have any scheduled airport on your pairing/rotation.

Interesting:D yet another culture thing I guess. Everyone has their own charts out vs share. Where do you guys put it the plate where both guys can see it?
Ferd

We both carry the departure/destination we are flying to. CAs carry all the A-M, FOs N-Z. So that way between the two of us we have a complete set. Between the two of us we make a good pilot!

I like the concept of EFBs, but until I get to try one I will reserve judgement.

I want to know if you can display two pages at once, and if so, how damn small is the printing. Last EFB I saw was a Panasonic Toughbook with a 12 in screen.

Also want to know how quickly it can change pages. How quick can it zoom in and out on specific parts of a jepp. Will it update over any wireless or only at a company wifi hotspot.

Can we put other software on it or is it going to be restricted to jepp software and company manuals only.

It sounds great in theory, but I want to test the reality before its permanent.

P.S. I heard that there is a version that can be built into the table/tray on Airbus.

Just got done with DAL-N DC9 FO Phase III Training. It's official. Starting August 1st the FO will be doing EVERYTHING! JK. ;)

But our workload increases dramatically. I think our poor CAs will be lost over there. No more starting engines, & no more overhead panel/center pedestal preflight on their legs. They might end up falling asleep over there!!! :D

Johnso29,

Naw they just get to deal with all that important "Captain sh!t" now!!!:D
(Just Kidding!!)

I could definitely see this, heck I can see them moving all the -88's out of NYC.

Flipping thru the bid packet it looks like mostly split between BOS shuttle and rotations that leave NY and come back 3-4 days later...not doing much that actually requires those crews there. Most of that Song flying is either gone completely or has gone to the Bus.

They could right size the LGA-BOS shuttle with A-319's (heck we seem to copy everything else USAir does with their shuttle). Maybe even reintroduce LGA-DCA with it as well. I'm sure their precious 70 seaters could be better used elsewhere where it could be viewed as a superior product (replacing a 50 seater) verses an inferior one (replacing an -88) business travelerwise.

We'd then have comparable equipment (yeah no tv's) to the competition headed down to FL out of both LGA & JFK, and could use those -88 crews to actually fly in & out of a base like DTW or MSP.

I would not be surprise to see a few curve-balls like this thrown out there that we haven't thought of.

It will be interesting. Lots of possibilities.

Yeah, something has to change on the Shuttle. We aren't offerring a good product to the business flyer. The Shuttle flights are empty ... very very empty. In order to keep this viable, they are going to have to switch something and to launch a big ad campaign. Otherwise, the Shuttle is dead.

On the DCI side of "the shuttle" they've actually upgraded about half of the 50 seaters doing BOS-DCA/DCA-BOS to -175's or 900's. Seem's like they have had strictly 50 seaters doing that forever.

Even though they haven't been acting like it lately I still think the shuttle is key to DAL maintaining their desire to wear the "daddy pants" in NY, if anything just for status.

An F/A told me the other day she had heard we were getting the DCA shuttle back...didn't take her sersiously of course, but now.....maybe?
