Of course there will bee more FO than CA... Whether b/c it means furlough or not. FO's are alot cheaper than CA... (but pay proctection... I forgot about that).

I think we can! And we did!

acl65pilot 07-11-2009 06:18 AM

What it means is that if there are a lot more FO's that CA's displaced they are fat staffing the junior categories so that they can furlough if they need to.

The updating resume, is in reference to if you see 800 FO's and 400 CA's on the 88. IE if this happens update the resume.

The displacements are going to come off the 767. Not the ER. We are slowly moving to an all ER category.
IMHO what that means is SLC and ATL are on the chopping block.

I think an all ER category will net more bodies not less. The staffing formula for the ER is higher than for the 767, and if we go all ER, you will have to be able to have the staffing coverage to fly a Intl trip with a crew out of any base. The efficiencies are not in fewer bodies, but in the flexibility of where you can get them from.

I agree with that, because they will need a ton of flexibility.

I always said, that the first few years would lead to some interesting results. If we can get to the end of 2011 with no furloughs. I think we will do quite well.

I know we need to press the weight certification issue with the RAH jets. That is a must. Add to that, we need to keep all remaining flying and recapture what we can. Adding pilots to this group will make us stronger in the contracts to come.

Yeah, I'm really confused about this. According to a capt who flew with an fo that flew with our 757 fleet capt:D, we would continue domestic and international like oldDelta. Then I had breakfast with a couple of ER guys from LAX that said they were told we are going all international like old NWA. Soooooooo, guess we will see eh? Flexibility is the key to marketing power?

PS congrats to us for 10,000! How many did we waste on SLI predictions back in "the day".:D

the closer we get to the age 65 full effect point the better. By next year we should start seeing more and more start dropping off.

Let's hope so, because right now I feel like I'm hanging off a cliff. One hand has slipped off, & a fat man has his foot raised ready to stomp on my fingers so I can't hang on any longer.
