The government probably realized that outlawing it would be futile, so instead decided to legalize and control it... You can google Orchard Towers. Don't be surprised to occasionally see scantily clad wimmen in the hotel elevators when you check-in and head for your room at oh dark thirty. |

Chewing gum is outlawed (you can bring it in country, but you cannot purchase any), not flushing a toilet in a public bathroom carries a fine, peeing in an elevator carries a fine, littering carries a fine, but amazingly prostitution is legal (note that pornography is not and carries a hefty fine as well).

I didn't answer anyway. I don't answer unknown calls for that very reason. Scheduling HAD to use phone numbers that were clearly identified as NW AIRLINES on caller ID. Nu |

Just tell them you have no child care. Scheduling is going to think we're a bunch of alcoholics since we're all always drunk when they call. Forget it, no sense in hiding the truth.

If you have a service that will allow it, key in a different ring tone for the scheduling numbers. Mine is an alarm, sort of like a submarine being torpedoed. :D If I'm on the hook, I obviously answer. If I'm not, the sub goes down.

They don't already? We've got some work to do if that's the case. |

nevermind, I just made it up anyway.

Interesting. I grew up in SIN from 1970 to 1982 with a short break between '73-'76 and then it was illegal to bring it in, or even possess it. Of course, I made some real coin by smuggling it in every summer and selling it at school for a huge mark up. There were and are many laws there that would have an ACLU weenie's head doing a "Linda Blair," but for an enterprising young lad, if you knew how to operate properly, it was a pearl on a platter.

Also says its still illegal to import it and the fine is $500 and up. Guess I'll have to ask the locals again next time I go to SIN. |

I just didn't want to go. It was an easy 10.5 hours of GS pay, but I was just too lazy to do it. I guess the flight cancelled because they couldn't cover it. IDK for sure, but the rotation they offered me did not operate because they couldn't cover it. |
YEHAW! just read what felt like 50 pages catching up.
**Attention all domestic pilots: The reserve parameter settings for your categories have been expanded up to nine consecutive Maximum Days On. So, this is a win win. For 2 years you get to schedule pilots for up to 9 days in a row and then get them to give up something to get rid of it or to put some restriction on it. Wait, this isn't a win win at all... |

Yes but it is paid as straight time above 70. Also you are only paid above 70 for off days.
As I understand it, on green slip days, we are not obligated to answer the phone but if we do, are obligeted to take the trip. Is this correct? |

I think it's great! I wish we could have all our reserve days be consecutive if we choose to bid it that way. As it is now, if you do 9 in a row, you get an extra day off somewhere in there. It's great. Also, it allows us to bid the majority of our days off together versus having to spread them all over the month. Much better for big travel. It's a huge win if you ask me.
I have to agree with you Captain. I think it is a good thing especially with the limit on short calls. If they have not rested you somewhere by day 7, you are basically on 24hr long call. If they have rest you, you might get out of one of your reserve days. It would be nice if PBS treated it as a waiver type of bid request, default of max 6 days, but able to get up to 9 in a row if requested. Just my .02 |
STL Hub
Persoanlly, I can't see it for the same reason(s) CVG is being down...er I mean "right-sized." Throw WN in the mix and I say this is just a pipe dream,

Opening any more hubs in the midwest would only impede the strength of DTW and even MSP for that matter. Besides, with DTW, MSP and to a lesser extent MEM, DL has the heartland covered pretty well.
|
With all our Midwest hubs no way. AA couldn't make it work and WN basically stagnate there, no chance.
|
Maybe that is where all the RJs are going... I don't think Albert will ride on one though...
