I was just currious, does anybody know the upgrade to captain time at Delta. Airlinepilotcentral's Delta page says the most junior captain is NY MD80 with a July 2000 hire date? Is this correct?
|
That is correct. M88 Captains went very, very junior on the last bid, from furloughed to Captain in 4 years. Most likely those junior Captains will stay near near the bottom of their category list for years as many pilots bid in above them. With no merger and already scheduled aircraft deliveries this positive trend might continue -but throw in a merger and all bets are off.

This might be a dumb question, but if you get an aircraft out of initial training and you do not bid to another aircraft, will/can you get bumped to another aircraft? Would the company bump you to another domicile or another aircraft at your current domicile?
Getting "bumped" works the same way as advancements. You put in your preferences during the bid process for where you would like to be moved if you get kicked out of your category. Delta calls it "mandatory displacement". They will only move you to another domicile if you prefer, or if that's the only place your seniority can hold. As you might guess - In past downturns nearly everyone cycles through the junior NYC categories on the way out to furlough and then on the way back in during recovery. |

What are the a/c assignments based out of ATL? Is 757/767 even possible?

MD88 in ATL is short right now. Very short.
Time to start the inverse assignment and green slip thread! I'm liking it while it lasts. |

"Previous Airlines included:

Can't worry about that kind of stuff though... you just never know what might happen. Had a good bud that left Fedex for Delta about a month before 9/11. Made perfect sense at the time, but he was kicking himself a few months later. |
