I don't know where you got that number dude, but it's a little stiff. Of course the company line is mins are mins, but everyone want's to know what competitive mins are... but 1000 ME PIC I would say is well above the competive mins. 1000 PIC maybe.

Any way for reference, mine at the interview were around 2200 TT / 350 ME PIC / 1000 or so SE PIC (turbo prop Primary Instructor)

Only two internals, both from relatively "junior" F/Os (2000 hire and 2001 hire)

My 2 cents...

Called yesterday; I'm in the March 3rd class. Interviewed Dec 20. Also had the option of a March 17th class.

When my rec went into one of the assistant chiefs office to talk me up, he requested how much ME PIC I had (had a listing on my resume for turbine PIC, but not just multi PIC). From that, I gathered that 1000 ME PIC is what they were looking for.

Not a true statement.

I have a close friend who is a Feb 07 hire and he has a line in SLC for Feb on the 800. I am a July 07 hire and I'm on the 90. I have 5 or so underneath me and in March there are 12 FO's leaving for other categories. They have 5 newhires in training now for SLC M88. If they put another 5 newhires on the 90 in Feb, I should have 15 underneath me for the month of April. That should get me a line by April. I know this is all subject to change, but the fact is that 07 hires ARE holding lines in Feb on the 800 and should be holding lines in March or April on the 90 in SLC. They won't be good lines, but they are lines. So that was a true statement.

And I know a 2000 hire that was on reserve last month and is barely holding a line this and next month so whats your point. SLC is not a junior base and that is a fact. As I indicated in a earlier post there are exceptions to every senario.

My point is the guy asked how long to hold a line in SLC and so I told him. There probably aren't many guys between 2000 hires and Feb 07 hires in SLC so the fact that your buddy has had a line this month makes sense to me especially if he is a late 2000 hire. I never said that SLC was a junior base, but the last bid had 18 unbid positions on the 90 and some on the 800 and 757. I know the 800 and 757 cannot be considered junior, but if there are 18 unbid positions on the 90, I'd almost say that could be considered junior as those slots will all be filled by newhires. In any case, let's not get into a ****ing match over how junior or not junior SLC is. It's great to even be able to get based there within a year as that has not always been the case. I was expecting to not get there for at least a year or two then sit reserve for another year or so. Anything better than that is great in my book and it looks like it will be much better than that.

SS,
Yeah, I was starting a long layover in MIA at the "Sherry". I was typing fast so I could get to the pool and a cold drink! I was typing faster then I could think, but it was 75 and sunny. "Turbine" PIC is what I was trying to say. Of course, this is the company line. Then there is the thought of "PIC is PIC", which I agree. That is why I tell folks to put in an app, regardless, because you never know. I think having an ATP or mins for an ATP w/ the written done is a good start.

Good catch SS.

If you want to get hired at Delta, I suggest you apply to Northwest!
