I think the third should be mounted on the back - for dancing.

Just wondering if any of you Delta folk know about the Flight Operation internship? What kind of tasks do you do, etc.? Anybody know if in the hiring climate beginning in a few years, the internship could lead to employment after graduation? Delta is my ultimate professional goal, not just because of the practical benefits (pay, benefits, fleet, etc.) but the overall company culture.

Skylover,

The internships are a good deal and a way to gain some recognition for your future application. Often you are assigned interesting work, or sometimes gain a 737 Type Rating (why we help interns meet Southwest's competitive mins, go figure). Delta's culture left with Hollis Harris, but this hybrid Garrison Keillor version of Texas International isn't half bad. What I'm saying is focus on the practical ... .

Did you see our new jets?

Hmmm..... Surprised this is not being discussed.

Bloomberg News

IAG May Consider Buying Stake in American Airlines, Mail Says

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (IAG), owner of British Airways, may consider buying a stake in American Airlines Inc., the Daily Mail reported, citing Chief Executive Officer William Walsh.

The move is to prevent American Airlines from being taken over by Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL), according to the newspaper. It would be a “small investment,” Walsh was citing as saying by the Daily Mail.

That's what ACL's been saying for the last 18 months.

Did anyone else notice a huge jump in the flight advance from July 1st paycheck to the August 1st paycheck?

I don't remember seeing anything in the contract about a change

Found it, it's one half of reserve guarantee for the month. It all makes sense now.

Remember, "1+1=3." Amazing how guys "in the know" and still in positions of leadership can miss the mark by so much.
