Wait, what happened in the hangar??

Contracted maintenance jacked the aircraft without securing the tail. Aircraft rotated nose up and a hanger beam cut though the aircraft just behind the cockpit. Heard it was strike damage but never saw a final outcome.

Two things. A comment and a question. First, I am surprised that no one has mentioned that one of our own has thrown his hat in for ATL FO rep. Got my vote. Next, how do we go about getting a verification of employment on Delta letterhead? Just booked a Disney cruise and they need this, vs ID. Thanks.

I needed an expedited passport which required a letter from Delta and the Chief Pilot Support Center did it for me.

The best thing to do is AVOID that verification of employment line. It will make you pull your hair out. The easiest thing to do is call your chief pilots office and ask them to type something up.

Now I might come across as a "tool" for saying this, but did you have a local airport SIDA badge in addition to your company ID? (like all the ramp workers do?). If not that is a BIG no-no that could get you and DAL alike in big trouble. I appreciate the fact that you were putting your bag down below as a courtesy (as I have done before) but if not in uniform and without a SIDA badge that is really not kosher.

Also, if you were non-revving, how did you get to talking with the captain in the first place?

Flame back if you please.

My description was lacking, sorry! I most definitely did not go down the jetbridge in either station. That would have certainly made me tool of the day. I left the bag at the jetbridge with the strollers strollers and other bags to be checked.

The captain was standing there making small talk with a ramper when I ran into him as we were deplaning. Made sure I wasn't interrupting anything important. The FO was still in the cockpit- they had a long connection in ATL for their next flight.

Ouch!!!!

Btw, I got the 44 and 11 on order from that aircraft fleet book for the 3rd quarter, so somewhere around 55 to the 58 you mentioned. Did we loose 2 others?

Hey Bar, how do we insure that? Because the 90s are worth more to us then the acquisition price? Right?

[QUOTE=80ktsClamp;1247605]80, checking in!

My observation of the bid- basically 1 layer of backfilling. None of the cascading that would normally occur- A handful of 320 CA's vacated out of the ATL 320, but were not backfilled and they are very short staffed. Zero movement on the FO side.

I would expect a pretty major cleanup bid in October as a result of this.

I just went back and looked at the A/E, there's nothing below the 73N.

Looks like they are waiting for the 717/737-900 deliveries to stir up the DC9, MD88 and A320 pot.

Or does it have to do with the Frontier rumors?
