Meaning they haven't hired since 2000. Their most junior Captain has been with the company over 20 years! Still have 1800 pilots on furlough. The SLI would be a nightmare. Probably make USAirways' merger look like a Disney movie.

I guess it depends on how much of their fragmentation language survives and how much each gets.

true that. does seem like the vultures (which includes us) our circling and it's not because there's something dead. They just want to rip it apart. And in the end it's probably UsAir that disappears from airline history.
and it sounds like stuff is moving kind of fast. remember when Hawaiian was all that we thought would happen? If you were a CEO of an airline, would you tie yourself up financially or with regulatory ATI issues with an airline of smaller scope until you knew the end state of the AMR CH11 situation? |

I don't think one can point to anything specific but it sure "feels" like things are beginning to pick up speed. Maybe the catalyst will be when and what the judge rules in regards to the pilot contract....... What happens if and when the judge rules against APA? (I don't see how it will not happen.) Does that also toss out the fragmentation part of their contract? Not trying to be a vulture, would just like to know????

Well if all the bluster on this forum is any real indication of the sentiment over there, if I were a CEO I would pick up the pieces for cheap at the fire sale. I know that's cold and callous, but that is what the AA guys on here seem to be saying.. unless I am misinterpreting their words.
In the end that may be what you see. It may be small pieces, nothing at all, or a whole heck of a lot. Good thing we have a standing merger committee that plans for all possibilities. |
