If it's not safe to fly back with passengers but they're flying it back empty, is it coming back unpressurized?

I remember hearing years ago that the CAL 777 that had the tailstrike on takeoff out of EWR having to be flown back unpressurized to Seattle for extensive repairs.

Kind of a neat flight I'm sure, if you weren't worried about the tail falling off.

Probably unpressurized. That's what they did with the jet in Moscow a few years back.

So just leap frog it back or how far can it go unpressurized?

A sad day for MoonShot with the passing of Neil Armstrong...

As for the AE relative to hiring, that is how it usually seems to be, however since the hiring/training pipeline takes a while to ramp up, if they "know" they will need pilots, I could see them gearing things up before an official AE. I don't think it will happen, but it wouldn't be mind blowing if it did.

My best friend Kevin Bacon knows this guy that lives next door to this lady that goes to church with a CPZ pilot and he says that she says that he says that someone high up at CPZ said that CPZ and DL have worked out the next round of flows a little better and the 90 day buffer, which Hulas says will be enforced rigorously, will be built into the process the next time we hire.

Word is CPZ wanted a little more notice anyway and DL absolutely hated doing the split class thing with flow holdbacks and ghost bidders when new hires were going into 3 or 4 different planes. That's something that will likely be the case if and when hiring ever resumes (Objection! Sustained. I withdrawal my statement.) so if the department that runs Flt Ops (Marketing, duh) anticipates anywhere near significant and/or sustained hiring, I could see the process gearing up before the next AE made it official.

All that said, I'm still bearish on the liklehood of it all at the present time, but there are some wild cards out there for sure.

Totally agree. Those wild cards will determine a lot.
