I plan on shorting APPL. Taking ideas from Sony and Mitsubishi, then pushing outdated hardware with "we stole it first" patents is not innovation. This litigation is simply a sign that Apple is out of ideas, and barely comes in fourth in a foot race with Taiwanese and Korean fabricators (assuming the Taiwan competitor was pregnant when the race started). If Xerox had ever enforced their patents there would not be an Apple ... .

Besides there is the usual cycle of buy on the hype, sell on release date disappointment (no matter how good the product is) coming to us.

As is usually the case with predatory litigation, the only real winners are the attorneys and the only real losers are the consumers. This will be overturned on appeal. In the mean time Android will all but be put on hold. Quite a development since iOS and Android are both simply customized Linux (open source) shells.

Imagine in Orville and Wilbur Wright had been able to get Curtis in front of a California jury.

$800/share once Apple TV is announced. Careful shorting. Could be a set up for a squeeze.

You mean their failed XBox attempt launched in mid 2006? Or, is this a more recent attempt to put a white cover on another manufacturer's technology and call it "innovation" ? 8 GB flash storage, really? My three year old Motorola Cable Box has 500 GB.

Trolls.

Guys, please take the time to complete the latest Rotation Construction Survey. I'm not sure if it has any effect at all, but for all us 10.3 hour credit red eye *****s in LA, can it hurt?

Grazie. Back to your regularly scheduled underboob, hiring rumors and RJ bashing.

I thought the same but have seen real improvements in the NYC 320 category that the CR&P and RCC are attributing to the survey we filled out. So, worth the 5 minutes.

you guys are starting in the DOMC way early.

For once I was thinking like an international enlightened intellectual/delicate genius instead of a knuckle dragging NASCAR watching beer swilling Amurican and I get corrected. This kind of internal division is exctly why the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor in the Civil War of 1812.

It's official. There literally is everything on the internet.

Dogs can't read. You have to take it to them on a personal level and make it real for them.

Depends on the 2013 summer block plan (Captain Obvious, reporting for duty!*) but despite the RMP we still have 60+ mandatory retirements for 2013, and some always leave "early" (although is >60 "early"? anywhoo...) so I fugure 150 or so for 2013 will leave regardless. No, irregardless. We made ain't into a word, we can do it again if we stick together!

Plus the associated training bubble 150+ cascading retirements will bring, plus the bubble needed to buff the 717 and 737s. Not saying it will happen, but it could, especially if we're just looking at 150 this year, although I really doubt we will see sustained 50 a month starting in 2013. 2015 or 16 maybe, but not for a while. The economy isn't about to suddenly "recover" other than maybe another quantitative easing spending bubble, which won't last long and I'm sure RA knows this better than anyone. If we do need substantially more bodies, it will be because we're finally taking it to JB, VA, AS and the foreign EGO carriers, perhaps timing it with the collapse of their dellusional fantasy Farnborough order books.

Still LAS is giving 1.5:1 odds against DL hiring for 2013 and the 2013/2014 over/under is 220 (or 221, whatever it takes).

*heh heh heh, I said duty!

trlaketige 08-25-2012 07:32 AM

That's what I thought. I would still love to see some wide-body Boeing orders. And the 747-8i would be great, but I will settle for 777's and787's.
