True and a bunch of others. I figured if they planned a flag stop in would have been annotated on the rotation(s)

Bangor? Heck, I hardly knew her!

Bangor?

Are the World Famous "Maineiacs" still based there, or am I confusing this with another airport?

St Johns was always my favorite stopping off point in the C-9B heading out over the pond. I remember being in line to fill up my coffee one dark winter evening and the guy in front of me is topping of a thermos.

We start making small talk and he lets me know that he is ferrying a Single engine Cessena over the Atlantic. Talk about some Balls! I was so impressed I even gave him my chocolate chip cookies -Since I had already snagged the last two :)

The Maineiacs are still around--yes at Bangor. I was just up there visiting with my "other" job a few months back. I guess they have Lobster up there as well--who'd have known.

My mother was in the market for a new phone a few months ago. She said the iPhone 4S was $199 but the droid was free. I suggested she get the iPhone 4S, but she got the droid instead. The next day she returned the droid, disappointed, and got the iPhone -- absolutely loves it. One anecdote of many.

The new Androids completely destroy the iPhone in every way. The iPhone WAS the best smartphone, but the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S3 beat the iPhone in every category. Don't get me wrong... the iPhone is still a nice phone, especially if you just want a basic smartphone. But if you're looking for performance and features, go Android. Plus, there's a huge difference in quality between certain Android phones. If your mom got one for free, then maybe it wasn't a very good phone to begin with? Apple needs to really step up their game with the iPhone 5, because they're losing market share very quickly.

They probably did offer my mother an older Galaxy. I don't own one, so I can't speak to it.

PC World rated the Nexus and 4S, with a draw in 10 areas, Nexus a winner in 9 areas and the 4S winning in 5 areas.

Galaxy Nexus vs. iPhone 4S: Smartphone comparison - Android, Android 4.0, Apple iPhone 4S, Galaxy Nexus, Ice Cream Sandwich, iOS, iOS 5, iPhone 4S, mobile phones, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, smartphones - PC World Australia

I guess when a company earns brand loyalty, they'd like to keep it by improving their product. For example, I love my 1999 Ford F150 4x4 pickup, and plan to get another when it wears out.

It'll interesting to see the impact on Android phones with the latest verdict.

Apple Verdict may lead to Samsung Sales Ban

Goose Bay was the BEST fuel stop on the way home. Snow drifts piled 30 feet high and spray paint to show you where your wings were...and a damn good chili dog.

Yes. It's going to be very interesting! I would bet that Steve Jobs dying words were "Kill Google!"

Purdue grad, esteemed pilot, total gentleman. Fellow Boilermaker, we follow you to the sky and beyond.

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
