Um... actually they do mention in one of those blastmails having 2 airplanes as operational spares.

I kind of think it's too bad MD didn't come out with the MD-90 in the late 80s instead of the 88. But then again, unlike the 90, the 88 actually works. But hey, we've had the 88s the whole time and the 90s have been... around the block...

Standing by for Bar's colorful comments in one, two, three..

Next, how do we go about getting a verification of employment on Delta letterhead? Just booked a Disney cruise and they need this, vs ID. Thanks.

You know, I just got that on my old email I never use. SO... I too must say publicly, he's got my vote!

That's because you're not supposed to count this kind of stuff into the cost of outsourcing. Kind of like the $5.5B Bar mentioned for outsourcing to the regionals.

Although as a good friend of mine said, if the $5.5B is true then that ought to let you know that the company thinks outsourcing is worth at least $5.5B.

Now I might come across as a "tool" for saying this, but did you have a local airport SIDA badge in addition to your company ID? (like all the ramp workers do?). If not that is a BIG no-no that could get you and DAL alike in big trouble. I appreciate the fact that you were putting your bag down below as a courtesy (as I have done before) but if not in uniform and without a SIDA badge that is really not kosher.

Also, if you were non-revving, how did you get to talking with the captain in the first place?

Flame back if you please.

You are actually correct. DFW is a place that is very strict on pilot in civvies not going on the ramp. No SIDA badge, no access. Ask a gate agent or ramp agent to escort you. They are actually pleased you know the rules.

DAL has a portal on DALnet for verification of employment and income for any thing that you need. They can fax or e-mail it to whomever you request it be sent to. Housing is a little more complicated, but the lending agencies will provide their necessary codes.

One of those Globals had been delivered 6 weeks before--less than 100 hours. Innotech had bid on the repair, insurers were arguing about totaling it.
