Not sure if they made that announcement, but the board approved up to 50 MD-90's a few months ago. We have been in the process of obtaining the said airframes for many moons. Results will be forthcoming with jets at the gate.

See, everyone said that I was wrong on the MD-90 rumor. Well, here they come. 8 million a copy with a million in work and we have a 150+ seat jet that is more efficient than a 738 for 1/4 of the cost.

ACL,
Thanks for the link. Did you see the article today about USAir considering cutting its E190 fleet? They aren't sure if they will sublease or just get out of them all together. It is on FlightGlobal.

DAL has slots in DCA that we use but not as regularly as some ;)

We also have IAD slots too.

IMHO, the upcoming announcements from one carrier will be very telling. Do not let financial results fool you. Accounting is an art.
When a carrier starts to sell/swap assets and discontinue service to some important cities that is a good sign that something is afoot.

(UAUA did this last year with a few FL cities)

Oh, I am very aware of their decisions regarding their 190 fleet.......

FWIW IMHO it is just the tip of the LCC announcement iceburg.

BTW, I love that show.

Speaking of rudder issues, don't stomp too hard in an AB.

That is why the 757/767 is the best airplane ever built. It has three levels of redundancy. The 73N not so much. It is a lot lighter and hence its popularity. I just wish that someone could convince Boeing to reopen the 757 production line.
