johnso29, that is not correct. The end of month check is paid as half the reserve guarantee for that month, and is an "advance" only in that it is pay for flight in that month that will finally be paid in full on the 15th of the next month.
For example: Your Sep flying will be paid on Sep 30th and Oct 15th. On the first check, you get the first XX hours (equal to half the reserve guarantee) and on Oct 15th you get whatever else you are owed (plus per diem). The Sep 30 check was much lower, because reserve guarantees in Sep went way down compared to the summer months.

That is not correct either. See my reply to johnso in another post. If you flew zero hours from 9-1 thru 9-15, but flew a ton in the last half, you'll still get half the reserve guarantee in your 9/30 check.
Thanks for the clarification. Columbia deserves a shout out too, as I believe he corrected me first. Thanks guys. :) |
I gotta say this sunday at the Ryder Cup has been really hard to watch so far.......

Can someone explain the way that SC is assigned. First time on reserve in a while and there are 8 guys jr to me who do not have a SC. since it is the first day of the month we all are at 0.

The jr. guys to me are all in the same bucket. We are all on day 1 of the month with no short calls with the same number of days available.

At least that's how it worked last year. This year, it may work according to buckets, but I'm mildly skeptical. |
Johnso, aren't you confusing DAG and buckets in your explanation?

Also, are they sitting a SC today? Are you in a domestic only category? |

I did mix up the terminology. The days of availability groupings are what counts initially. Buckets are technically applicable to RAW score. Old NWA habit. Sorry. Sec 23.S.f f. be converted to short call within days-of-availability groupings, in the following order: 1) in seniority order, among pilots who have submitted a yellow slip for conversion to short call and who have less than three short call credits. 2) in inverse seniority order, among pilots who have not submitted a yellow slip for conversion to short call and who have less than three short call credits. 3) in seniority order, among pilots who have submitted a yellow slip for conversion to short call and who have at least three short call credits but fewer than the maximum number under Section 23 S. 2.c. 4) in inverse seniority order, among pilots who have not submitted a yellow slip for conversion to short call and who have at least three short call credits but fewer than the maximum number under Section 23 S. 2. c. 5) in seniority order, among pilots who have submitted a yellow slip for conversion to short call and who have at least the maximum number of short 2call credits under Section 23 S. 2. c. 2). Note: The Company will publish, by calendar day for each category, the targeted number and start time of short call periods based upon historic and projected requirements. Such targets are pre-month estimates only and operational requirements will determine actual short call periods. |
