Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Okay, my dumb idea of the day, but I was thinking is it possible to replace the 88 and DC9s avionics with one of these?
Best I can tell these Garmin 600s are $35,000 uninstalled but someone in the GA world might know more. I mean if you can retrofit it into a 1978 Cessna 172 why can't we have it?

Quit making sense!
If you did not get easter eggs, it is because you had a nice instructor. I have had more than a few on both programs. Just do the flows and there are no issues. I like the one where they put the HYD S/O switch in to off. You cannot just fix it, but it is a reset once found.
Maybe and you've done a whole lot more than I. I've only been here since early 08. And its possible that we just slipped through the cracks as I am starting to figure out here but for me personally I only got it at the beginning of the 300s on the initial training and I only did the short recurrent on the ER so I haven't had a full blown recurrent yet. I agree that I don't want it to take up all of say the 300 training learning to put it in a stall and recover +/- 100', but it does kind of help develop aircraft control and a scan for your particular aircraft. The only reason I bring it up is I saw someone, an A, drop a 1,000' in a steep turn and the instructor said "well, its just a demo item." And we moved on.
I know that there were a lot of CA's getting paired up with new hire FO's on the 73N in 07 and 08. FWIW.
Forgot to bid,
Upon further thinking, I do believe you are right stalls are demo only! (I was thinking windsear recoveries) Sorry!

Maybe so or maybe they felt like they didn't have to do it because I have a tendancy to self enduce easter eggs. I mean I don't like being a glutton for punishment but its better in the sim then in the plane. I'm not going to admit whether I suggest it or not, just to protect the innocent (me) from retribution.

And the note it, and if there are other issues this one will be brought up too. I normally do that type of stuff on 301. Not the best day to be at ATP standards. Ya think?
As to your avatar picture, I had that guy on my flight out of SRQ. He sat in coach and we had to do a high altitude go around (not our fault) and then my landing lets say was the worse I ever had on the 88 (I'd like to say it was not my fault but it was). And then I got to meet him. He got off grinning ear to ear and gave me a hard time. I took my lumps and moved on and had a great landing the next leg and that made me so mad. In retrospect I should've said "Captain Kirk wouldn't have done that" but I couldn't think fast enough.
My guess is a good instructor can tell if he is going to get writers cramp within the first 15 minutes of the sim!

As for the steep turns/stalls being demo, it is the way the AQP program was written. Like I have said before. If you do not like something fill out the critiques they send you on DBMS. They read every one of them. Most do not fill them out, so the ones that get done, get a lot of attention. I have filled out everyone I have ever gotten, and am not afraid to call out an attitude, or event that I think needs more or less attention. I have actually been called a few times about my thoughts.

Maybe someone from the North can answer this but a buddy there told me as a new hire they paired him, and all the other new hires, up with a Capt going thorough left seat upgrade. His happened to have a bunch of time on the -9 and helped him enormously through training and company indoc. I thought that was a great idea, really for all training. Who better as a mentor than someone who's been doing the job you're training for. Nothing like that at all in my training experience. Usually two copilots trading out seats. His opinion was that the NW training dept overall was outstanding.
I was a kid when the original "Star Trek" aired. What a show for that time!! I can remember waiting in anticipation with my older siblings each week for the next episode. The only other role of his I've liked as much or more has been Denny Crane. Now wheres my paintball gun!!
Sorry for getting off track. Must be the mad cow kicking in!
