Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Is it in DALs best interest to avoid any AE's as long as possible prior to SOC? Especially after this last expensive AE on the DAL-S side?
Just wondering.

I keep reading about post SOC how much movement and displacements etc there will be. Especially on the DAL-S ATL side.
Here is my question, how do we know? If I was a Florida commuter I'd probably like to stop commuting to DTW and prefer ATL, or maybe hold a good line on the ER in NYC, but if I have some seniority then I might not get MD'd when planes move around, so I might have to do a VD. Dare I move to a new jet and risk a 2 year seat lock into a category that turns out not to be that good? Would it be better to bid to your own airplane at a new base to prevent seat locks, but who knows where I'd sit if a bunch of non-commuters jump into it?
The key to commuting is QOL. The problem is if post SOC has as big as a shuffle as we expect, how in the world do you make a judgement on whats going to have a good QOL if todays % to hold a commutable line turn out not to be the same post SOC?
To me, if I were in the 40%-80% tier in a category on either the DAL-S or DAL-N side I'd be ****ed off trying to figure this out and nervous about making a wrong move that takes me from seeing all of Jonny's game to none of them or going from most weekends off to zero.
I think this is going to be a mess even for guys you'd think would be happy about it and the pure lack of information up to SOC will be a killer. Especially for you DAL-N guys who I think were given more info to make a better decision going into an AE then DAL-S ever gives out. I hope for everyones sake they're kind of enough to say this plane goes there and this many lines, that plane goes there and so on. Of course, that'd screw me because the more nervous people are to move the safer I am. But I think its more important to be fair.

Use caution
Yes, and the first "big bid" has been known to trap guys in a position they later regret when the next bid comes out. Be especially wary of moving and buying a new house. It's risky to be anywhere near the bottom of a category, even if you are "sure" the category will grow, because the fleet plan is only a plan.

forgot to bid: never ever ever try to figure out the long term game plan, because there isn't one. They have an idea of a plan, but it will be reactive to things we nor they have any clue are going to happen.
Bid what you want, and want what you bid!

Exactly. There is a plan, and as of last count it has changed at least six times in the last year.

Uhh, my superior intellect, rugged good looks, advanced curriculum vitae, hands of gold, inate flying ability and a package that would make a horse blush?

Don't worry. Even though U of M will keep its top 10 law school ranking, OU will beat them in football for years to come. (Or at least as long as they think a Big Ten school has to have a passing game to win.)
