Thanks to George Bush Sr. we have the American's with Disabilities Act which imposes an extraordinary duty on common carriers who then outsource that duty to the lowest bidder.

The law is what it is, but, in a more normal time people who need medical transport services would buy medical transport services rather than shopping for the cheapest fare they can find, depending on others to literally carry them and suing when difficult tasks undertaken by the incompetent are fuddled. He wants dignity? Charter a Lear that is designed to carry handicapped folks with dignity. If you buy a seat in the back expect no more dignity than any of the other passengers who get trampled, bonked in the head and inconvenienced.

I helped care for a WWII fighter pilot who was wheelchair bound. When he fell out (he also had vertigo) he'd make a joke of it and climb back on. He knew how to make the two foot drop from his seat and would roll out of the maneuver making jokes ... especially in public places where he would exclaim "look at that hole!" ... "and that oil slick!" As store managers searched for a non existent hole, or spill, he'd make his escape while attention was diverted away from him. He never wanted to be a burden on anyone ....

That, IMHO, is the difference between that generation and ours .... . "gimme $300,000 tax free to restore my ... dignity ..." for an alleged soft tissue injury.

I hope there was a Happy Ending, up stairs in the bunk room, of course! I hope one of you offered to get her into the 7 Mile High Club.

 

So as far as I could gather! Instead of getting the layover at home which was my first choice, I missed the LCW by :22 and so in order to make my line it had to reshuffle it and I ended up couch surfing on xmas eve in LAX instead of having a cocktail at home with family and watching kids open presents on a trip (that is still in open time) that most likely will go to a jr reserve that would not want to hang with my kids!! The wife? that is another story!

Bottom line I am getting too old to be Junior!

My faith in PCS on holidays is not comforting! But Heck I just may get lucky!!
