Recency question. I have never run into this before but I am heading into the sim to do my 3 bounces. It is C period, but on my schedule it says to show at a later time. Is that normal? Do you just jump in and do three landings and jump out and be on your way?

You normally show later than the recurrent sims. There's a little more than 3 bounces, but it is just 1 hour in the seat. Scenario is something like 1 warmup takeoff to an ils, then a VNAV approach, then a cat 2/3 (for that currency). What you can actually expect is on your fleet page on deltanet.

Let me add to that: show up prepared. It's not just that it's more than 3 bounces, but also that they're specifically looking for profficiency. It's a good opportunity to have a cake-walk OR look and feel foolish if unprepared. Think of it in terms of spending about 1/3 the effort of a CQ profile. Read the script before you step in front of the audience.

Hands full with trying to coerce children upstairs for bed, otherwise I would try to look this up for myself.... What time is the last PCS run of the day? I was thinking 2200, but I can't remember.

Thanks....

As my kid is playing in the bathtub... 2200 is correct.

PCS is run at 0700, 1200, 1700 and 2200, eastern time.

As a Marine, I knew the first run is 0700 (pcs template) then every 5 hours: noon ,1700, 2200. Simple even for me

Diane Rehm show today on NPR with Lee Moak and Roger Cohen. Lee gets smacked down by Diane. He also claims the fatigue rules are "science based." Lee also claims the shortage will be resolved by all of the US foreign pilots who want to return to the US.
