Quote: ya know, talking about high beam switches and heather just reminds me of some of the "bullet-proof" DAL captain stories of way back when...Sugar Ray, Capt WOW, LaLiberXX, I even got to fly with one before he retired: "Hanky-Pxxxx."

Great DAL history and always good for a laugh. Even if some of them weren't funny at the time.
What was the story on Capt Wow? I seem to remember that name from a Capt I flew with telling a story.
You really had to work with those guys, to appreciate just a regular ol' run of the mill flying day, seems funny now. The rocker must have been broke.
Flew with WOW and Hanky, don't forget Charlie B!?&z. He was the worst. WOW, I believe, is the only DAL pilot to be on the front page of the WSJ.
Standard Sugar Ray day, JFK/MIA, clapped-out Pan-Am 8, finds out autopilot inop, gives you the leg, then requests 390, builds character he says.. long day.

He's one that you cannot narrow down to a single story.

One of his idiosyncracies was that he was a guy that liked acreage. He bought tons of acreage in what the mountain men trappers called the bayou salade. We call it Jackson Hole, WY. Cha frikkin Ching.

Starter engagement switch (an upgrade from the pedal / lever). The MD88 moved it to the overhead panel, but it still does the same thing as a Model A Ford.

Also works on Heather ... just push ... then the tart starts.

What do I win?
Quote: When's the last model year to have red carpet as an option?

And does Heather have that option as well?
Bwahahahahahaha!!!!!!

New uniform item for new-hire flight attendants...

Deadheaded on a Mad Dog the other day. Captain couldn't get the right engine started. Turns out it was flooded.
He just needed to hold the throttle all the way forward and pull the choke. That cleared it out.
It backfired a couple times and then lit right off.
The Captain started the right engine? Weird.
