I'm trying to find a route map of all the flying under Skywest and Expressjet, but no luck so far.
so just imagine the above coex/asa map with these:

I would rather have DAL purchase the new jets at mainline and get the leased ones at DCI.
I'd rather have the 76-seater at mainline, than outsourced.
But I guess you are right, who cares...
Better have it at DCI.

Are there Delta pilots that live in Europe and commute? I was thinking that 5 years down the road that my family wouldn't mind renting an apartment somewhere in Europe, for a year or so, and living there. Is it impossible to commute back to the states if you are in a category that has one or two trips per month?
Do you know any Delta pilots that live (even temporarily) in Europe?

It does matter, because that is often raised as a reason why the EMB isn't at mainline...

I think ya'll are on the same page, george. He's just saying, if it's going to be outsourced, he'd rather it not be a superior product the passengers love. I agree, the more complaints about DCI that DAL gets, the better for DAL pilots. It's one reason I felt the 50-for-76 swap in the TA was a sucker's deal, regardless of it slightly reducing overall seats at DCI. It increased the economically viable, passenger-desirable seats at DCI.
IMO it's not because the outsourced flying is superior to Delta when it comes to service and reliability, but because it's lower cost.
Columbia said it right:
If poor service and passenger comfort were any criteria of outsourcing, some of the DCI providers would be history...
Quite frankly, as a Delta pilot I'd want the outsourced flying to be cost ineffective.
