See this is the conundrum. Some pilots flying in common category loathe having separate pay on aircraft (M88-M90) so the lower paying equipment has been brought up to the higher paying rate. Now when you introduce a new piece of equipment that should generate more revenue and justify higher pay, we want it to pay more than the current category, but how long will it be before pilots start complaining that they aren't getting paid as much to fly the 320 as the 321? This is one of the problems with pay banding. Something that seats more ought to pay more. A formula to that effect (which can also factor speed) would have ensured that the company couldn't squeeze more from each 737 and 88, without paying those pilots more. More butts = more revenue for DAL = more pay for us. And yes, absolutely: the 747 should pay much more than the 777. |

With them out of FPL, and I gave Purple a warning to chill out... it may be a bit less colorful on that line of things. |
