See this is the conundrum. Some pilots flying in common category loathe having separate pay on aircraft (M88-M90) so the lower paying equipment has been brought up to the higher paying rate. There is some downside though, as the higher paying equipment does somewhat subsidize the higher pay rate of the smaller equipment.

Now when you introduce a new piece of equipment that should generate more revenue and justify higher pay, we want it to pay more than the current category, but how long will it be before pilots start complaining that they aren't getting paid as much to fly the 320 as the 321?

This is one of the problems with pay banding.

That's why we should hate pay banding, and why managements love it so: we don't capture our share of incremental revenue. Bigger planes are generally more efficient, so the company wants to naturally field the highest gauge consistent with sufficient frequencies. This reduces our numbers, so we need to re-capture the loss, in proportion to the number of seats.

Something that seats more ought to pay more. A formula to that effect (which can also factor speed) would have ensured that the company couldn't squeeze more from each 737 and 88, without paying those pilots more. More butts = more revenue for DAL = more pay for us. And yes, absolutely: the 747 should pay much more than the 777.

Considering the two primary DALPA guys are out of a job, it will be a bit more subtle from now on. Karnak pops up here and there, but that's about it.

With them out of FPL, and I gave Purple a warning to chill out... it may be a bit less colorful on that line of things.

,,,"-",,, Kilroy wuz here

This is specific graffitti that is being placed in M88 and M90, mainly around the FO's side of the cockpit and our "bag closet" in the back. It is something specific that got managements attention, I presume b/c it means something and they're ****ed!
Just a word of caution to whomever is doing it....

Can I ask why you're in there? That's going a little over board to get the stroller.....unless the kid's mom is hot of course.

While you're handing out warnings to chill... maybe you ought to consider your own advice. If they ever hand out oscars for people who play with poster identities on APC, and people who label others, I think you ought to have two well-written acceptance speeches in your coat pocket.

Which is probably, now that I think of it, the reason us Delta pilots need double-breasted coats. We know we deserve praise and recognition, but not always when they might come.

Anyone jumping from their Delta stock today? Considering the "looming" fiscal cliff and increased long-term capital gains taxes next year?

Any "free" advice/logic/opinion always welcome. :)

This is weird, a) that people think they might not get caught defacing property, and b) that management is actually expanding precious resources to pursue this.

As far as hidden spots on certain airplanes go, I don't write there, but they're often good for a chuckle. A primitive bulletin board of sorts.
