The quote I heard ref widebody jets was "about 10 more of a type we already have, around the end of 2014" mostly for Asia"

Heard that from a guy who wouldn't say where he heard it, so take it for what it's worth...shameless rumor-mongering

I'm pretty sure we had two ATL-GRU flights per day, about 7 years ago (because I flew the Rocket quite a bit), not sure when they dropped the 2nd ATL-GRU, but at that time, we had none from JFK.

Interesting, in that press release:

"In its filing, Delta also requested approval to continue its daily nonstop service between its hub in Detroit and Sao Paulo. Delta's right to operate that flight will transfer to US Airways in 2015 as part of a previously approved slot transaction that allowed Delta to expand at LaGuardia Airport in New York. "

So, I hope we get some of those additional frequencies the DOT is allocating. I know 2015 is a bit away, but more Brazil flying is always good.

Rumor is: A passenger noticed a crack in one of the wings. Second FO went back and checked and confirmed that there was a crack and the flight returned to HNL. Of course this was a NRT Sports Bar rumor. :)
