I think JFK is great, three hour taxi on 45 min flight. Passengers love it My record was a 6 hour taxi for a flight from JFK to ROC.

Meantime, this personal obsession with LM is getting tiresome.

Sink, sorry I disappointed you.

Overall I like Moak. You and I disagree with him for the same reasons, scope and flow throughs. There is no reason to single the Chairman out except for the fact that he has been the sole source of leadership and communication on the issue.

Moak isn't up for election. The Reps in my council are. All that is desired is a Rep that will vote the way his pilots have asked him to vote. A more participatory MEC could be a good thing. I've asked friends who are running to promise they will hold their ground and vote for with pilots' direction, even if that vote is unpopular at the MEC level. We could use a little more grass roots orientation, & participation, as we prepare for C2012.

As far as I know, candidates have not been nominated yet. It is not appropriate to post names here and I'm even careful about posting current Reps names although that is public information.

You are correct about change with no real change. It could make things worse. I'll PM you.

Personally I think it would go a LONG way if the MEC chairman were to hangout in the Delta pilot lounges and squash rumor or answer questions!
He did it just like he does it at mainline. The Compass pilots were receiving a briefing from their Negotiating Committee and Compass Pilot Coordinator on a new open time LOA for Compass that was recently ratified by the Delta MEC. The MEC chairman followed the road show presentation (it was not an MEC road show) much like when he attends an LEC meeting and follows the official business. He provided those in attendance with an industry update--much the same briefing that he has given many times at LEC meetings, MEC meetings, all committee meetings, training hotel meetings, etc. Q&A followed.

Hanging out in the pilot lounge is generally the purview of the local council representatives. The MEC Administration supplements those visits at the request of the LEC Representatives during significant events to provide technical expertise (Negotiators, R&I, Scheduling). Also, the P2P program when activated will place volunteers in the lounge to provide information and solicit input.

I'm late to this party but from what I've been hearing from other Compass guys who were there, RoughLandings wasn't at all misrepresenting what Moak said. It jives very well with things I've personally heard him say in the past, as well. For example: ridiculing the APA leadership for not allowing more than 18 outsourced 76-seaters and implying that there is a direct link to AA's financial performance and all the furloughs still on the street. I heard him say it both in private and in public at the LEC44 meeting back in March, and he apparently said that in the CPS meeting the other day. You can try covering for the guy all you want, but it's pretty apparent that he is still fervently pro-outsourcing.

Junglebus, most of us have figured out by now that RoughLandings' post was accurate.

Thanks for adding to it.

To me the problem here with scope is an absolute communication failure on the part of Mr. Moak and DALPA to tell us where they stand on the issue of scope. Why won't he just say it to all of the Delta pilots and not just the Compass pilots that 76 seat flying is gone for good and so on?

I was at the MSP meeting.

Everything that RL said is 100% CORRECT

What I want to know is how does slowplay know about the AA MD 80 guy?

It was mostly Compass guys with 2 other NWA guys??

Makes me go HMMM.

And the AA guy was spot on.

I was not impressed at all by LM.

Dangit, my bad grammar just be quoted. I was hurrying on an iphone.

I didn't know there was an AA MD80 guy there? What did he say about the whole argument about AA's problems are that they will not relax their scope?

yeah one of our LCA is a former AA 80 furlough.

He stated that APA set the line in the sand with a few 70 seaters and nothing else.

LM response was that is the reason he is still on the street. If APA allows 76 seater E jets that he would be recalled in a second.

Everyone come to Tribal Council meeting. Hear Big Chief Speak. Learn white men come to take land, farms, cattle. Big Chief say being divided is good so we cause no trouble for white man. Say we like life on reservation. White Man agree to stop at new fencepost. Big Chief say new treaty good, line in sand good, he smoke peace pipe with their President.

Junglebus drum, good drum, beat truth. Fencepost keeps getting moved on to our land. Our buffalo used to run entire plains. We had no fence to keep us from our land.

Medicine Man Bucking Bar say Fence no good. Treaty with White Man is Buffalo Crap, White Man no keep promises. Only way to be strong is to unite the tribes and take back the planes, I mean, plains.
