I did have an APD who did the memory items and then said now we will go through the rest of them. And he opened the book and asked us every limitation under the guise know more than you don't but in reality know them all. Geeish.

If I wasn't a five year new hire I'd do exactly what you said.
Had a APD ask the Captain what the required pressure was in the portable O2 bottle. Captain replied "I don't know." APD then stated, "Come on, you just saw the one while we were doing the equipment training. What was the pressure on that one?" The Captain correctly replied, "zero."

Undeterred, the APD then asked me

I have an 11" Air that I bought to replace my iPad. I do some geeky programming stuff that couldn't be done on the pad, and decided that an Air would be a good replacement.

I think it's a fantastic machine. The 13" would give me more screen real estate, but I don't feel confined at all with the 11". You'll have to play around with both at an Apple store or Best Buy and decide for yourself. TSA at LAX told me the 11" falls under the netbook category, which does not need to be removed from the bag. FWIW, I've never been asked to remove it, anywhere in the country.

Anyway, I'm very happy with it. Mine was about an even grand once I added a few features. It was money well spent, IMO.

Had an APD blow a gasket during my walk around slides a few years ago. He wanted me to tell him "the cargo door is open". I refused, we went 'round and 'round for several minutes. My reasoning was that the cargo door is almost always open during a walk around. His reasoning was that he hadn't been out of the training dept for years, and couldn't remember what a real airplane looked like.

I'm glad I don't get those guys. Guess I've been lucky; some are better than others, but all of them have been pretty relaxed IMHO. Now there was this one guy who is still flying with us--.

Actually any laptop/ipad/tablet that has an SSD and no spinning HDD or CD/DVD doesn't need to come out. Of course it is always dependent on how well the TSA agent working the machine was trained how well they know their own regs and their mood that day.

That bold part is the problem. Some want your ID out others just glance. Their standards are not really that standard which leads to frustration at 5 am.

Anybody else noticing the steady stream of GS's going out on the ATLM88B? Yesterday had a quite a few and it wasn't even the weekend. This past weekend probably had over 20 (Fri-Sun). There is also quite a few days that are actually negative Reserve coverage in April.

Someone remind me again why they thought the 88 was overstaffed in ATL?

You should also have mentioned that the heavy tug attached to the nose gear must be removed before flight, or a substantial weight penalty will be incurred.
