GOL Linhas (GOL) announced the implementation of GOL codeshare on Delta's (DAL) flights from Brasilia to Atlanta. GOL will now sell Delta's international tickets through its sales channels. Over the next months other markets will be included in the codeshare, including all Delta flights between Brazil and the United States, as well as key connecting markets operated by the U.S. company, GOL stated.
It should be noted that the increased CS is on the ATL BSB flight which is flown by, wait. Delta and Delta pilots. Its currently a 757 and is generally full. Might see an upgauge or more frequency if the added passengers from GOL ups the demand. We appear to be boarder-line on the demand curve right now.
Last time I was there, they agents were saying that cargo wise they could fill at a min a 767 daily, and AMR was responding with JFK service.
FWIW, when the city was relatively new in the early 80s you'd have to fly to GRU and make your way up on another long flight. Or drive 10-12 hours. Driving isn't really all that safe in Brasil. i'm sure there is a lot of love for those flights especially from either government.
I used to live off the right wing across the river. They built the capital in the shape of an airplane.

I hedge my bet just about everyone is senior to me.
So yesterday we're wanting to wash and wax the airplane after doing a maintenance test flight and my business partner says "why don't you just fly up to my house and land in the hang glider field ... I do it in my Maule ... no problem."
Considerations:

- 600 to 800 ft strip, who knows when it has been mowed or what's in there
- Record setting rains and flooding
- Mountains on three sides (which is why hang gliders jump from there)
- Gliders all over the place not expecting some lunatic in a Bonanza on final
- Engine has 0.3 hours since Top Overhaul ... meaning everything's been messed with but not really overhauled....

IMHO they should go back to 12 Meter Class boats sponsored by syndicates with no advertising allowed on the boats. If they want speed, spectacles and thrills, switch to ice boating. Lets go back to the days of grace, elegance, and sportsmanship in sailing.

I got stuck (literally!) in a glider strip one day in my Cub!
I was trying to out run a thunderstorm to my home field but I lost, so I had to 'proceed to my alternate' which was a little glider strip about 20 miles west. It hadn't been mowed in months, soggy ground too.
I landed just in time to tie it down and run into a shed to wait for the storm to blow over. It rained pretty hard but not long so when it was done I propped the Cub and tried to take off!
With the 18" tall wet grass, the mud and the puddles, I couldn't even get it going over about 20, and there was lots of mud spraying up off the tires onto the wings. I returned to the tie down, pulled out my cell phone and called the wife to come get me! I still hear about that one!
I returned to get the plane a few (dry) days later and still, it was a very long ground roll with all that tall grass. My biggest fear was hitting something like a cow lying down in there, so I back taxied to be sure there were no surprises.

The money thing was always an issue, that's why the sails are now covered with sponsor logos. And they also relaxed the rule that had said all the sailors on board must be from the "Country of Origin", so now you have Kiwi's driving and crewing the American boats, Britts driving Swiss boats, Aussies are all over every boat, no matter the country. It used to be a battle for national pride, now it's just a bunch of Billionaires blowing money for bragging rights. Heck, Team New Zealand is owned by Emirates!
Do you remember when Ted Turner won the America's Cup? The New York Yacht Club was some kind of Pizzed Off! They didn't like him at all, they called him, "The Mouth of the South."

The NYYC invited him alone to the Awards Banquet, not his whole crew. He said, "If my boys don't go, I'm not going!" And they didn't, Ted took his crew out drinking and blew off the banquet!
