I'm sure security cameras will be interesting.

Mary Schiavo, former head of the DOT, just spoke on CNN and said that it appeared they were "too heavy to land and probably on the wrong place on the glide slope." Case closed. Lol....

Pictures indicate that the aircraft touched down well short of the runway displaced threshold. Tail may have come off when it hit the rocks between the water and runway.

CNN "experts" report "heavy?" landing and the wheels may have "slipped?" That's when I turn off the sound and just look at the pictures.

Thanks to a portable retirement, I wouldn't my favorite cupcake. Go sell some scope or something. Wear your hat too.

Debris including landing gear all the way from the water beyond the displaced threshold. Looks like 28L.

Isn't that the truth. Any real expert could tell that hitting an air pocket was the cause here.

It's painful listening to the news' "aviation experts" talk on the news.

According to CNN Coast guard reporting possible recovery operation of a body in or near the water. Hopefully wrong.

And I don't think Emirates will EVER have a base anywhere but in the UAE. Those pesky unions would impose actual contractual obligations, thereby reducing their efficiencies and eating into their profits.
The 737 was a CAL plane though and ORD is a UAL base, I could see that. I mean it may absolutely be a train wreck over there but the MEL lists on our 88s grow long when they fly in and out of DTW for a few days. And this is how many years after our merger?

And the 9s didn't do well in ATL either from what I can remember. Airliners like to be near parts and when they get separated for too long reliability comes down. I think UAL had a not great reliability on their 744s so they moved maintenance to one location in SFO to improve it. Or so I read.
