Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
There's a trick to get the new Google Maps on Android to get offline maps. Find the area you want to download (zoom in or out for the correct detail) and then search for "OK Maps" and it will download the map you have onscreen - a little cumbersome (it used to be a menu option) but it still works.

Most people read these the same way. You pick up the spin, often, right away.
We are left with the sense that there either is no plan or the plan doesn't involve us.
Why is there any spin at all?
Be blunt.

.................If ALPA is to gain the critical mass needed to become the world's pilot labor Goliath, the "wealth" of the Delta pilot (our flying) has to be spread out more equitably. If ALPA were to just come out and say that, what would be your response? You'd want blood and ALPA knows it. Thus the game of language where ALPA appears to continually get "beaten".
This symbiotic relationship is currently working for both ALPA and management, albeit for different goals and outcomes.

Yeah, there's an awful lot of *'s on that list of cities. Good thing our customers prefer flying mainline...you know, 70 seats and above.
Break break---from three weeks ago:
ALPA: We think you guys need to hire. The peasants...er, pilots are getting a little reckless and threatening to break up our consortium.
MGT: Argh, another waste of money. How many would pacify them?
ALPA: Could you go 500?
MGT: We'll hire 50.
ALPA: How about 400?
MGT: Tell you what. We'll bring back the bypasses, add 100 new pilots, and make it sound like 300 in a well-crafted email. In return, you start prepping them to give us relief on the Atlantic JV. Or, we could increase mainline flying to comply.
ALPA & MGT: Ah, ha ha ha, ah, ha ha ha, good one! (Much knee slapping occurs)
ALPA: No, that sounds good. We will get an email out in the next two weeks. You guys still plan to be out of compliance in the Pacific, too, right?
MGT: Yes, and remember, you already agreed to sell that to the masses.
ALPA: We know, we know, working it already.
MGT: Come up with one of those graphs with a large y-axis scale so everything looks flat and fair. Those usually fool them.
ALPA: Funny you should mention it. That's our plan for the JV prep email.
MGT: Excellent...more cognac?
ALPA: Why yes sir, don't mind if I do.
