As for a verified and indisputable fact, he is a cheesy, annoying, and sad-excuse-for-a news anchor. This from a Fox supporter (who will also watch any other news channel besides MSNBC because it's not a news channel).

Not sure if this has been reported here or not, but the Madden Anniversary Edition on Amazon ($100) includes the option for both DirecTV subscribers AND non-subscribers to get NFL ticket for free on their computer, tablet, or smart phone. FAQs here.

GG,
First off, I don't think we are too far apart. I do not - repeat, do not want a system that enables the senior guy to routinely take a month off if the junior guy is working his butt off.
I don't mind a system where the senior guy gets an easier month (RAW 15) and the junior guy gets an easy month (7 days working, bucket 2 from the above example).
Are you saying its not fair that the senior guy gets a very easy month and the junior guy only gets an easy month?
Secondly, I hope this will shortly become a mostly academic argument as continuous movement starts (after being stalled at the bottom half of the list for 12 years) and no one stays junior on reserve more than a month or two in the NB FO position, which is really the only positions system-wide where being junior is not a choice.
Scoop

Well the thing is for me, I live in a base (SEA) and I got pushed out the bottom and now commute again. I could move, but then I'd have to commute to my second job which is here in SEA. Mix in all the family and house stuff, it's not worth it to move for the short term (I hope it is short). So I commute! Hopefully in the next 5-7 years I will be able to drive to work for my last 5-7 years here at Big "D".
Now one thing that kills me is there are 4 guys I have met the last couple of months that commute from SLC to SEA. Three guys could fly the same equipment in SLC as SEA and the other just did not want to be a 320 Capt anymore, so being a commuting 330 FO was a better life? I don't know their full life story, maybe not happy at home so that extra night or two away is great, but I hate that. I am about QOL and hate to commute, but do it with the hope of it being short term. Now if it continues to not be short term, this is not the only job out there. Mind you it is a good job, but not one I'm willing to lose QOL over.
(Money is great, but family means more.)

CNN (while sometimes slanted) is a terrific customer of Delta Air Lines and part of the home team business community in Atlanta.
Mostly, I get my news from the British press.

Can we bottle some of this enthusiasm for the next time the "seniority on reserve" discussion comes up? This is one of the strongest arguments for continuing to make reserve palatable to senior bidders - it opens up options way down the list for guys that otherwise would not be available. I'm genuinely happy for you guys. Congrats! Hopefully there will be more feel-good stories like this as the newhires join the D.

Anybody else having issues with Flighline/Easybid/Widgetworks? I tried to print out my trip sheets for tomorrow and kept getting an "http:/1.1 404 not found" error. Called the help line and was told it won't be fixed until the next bid period. Are you kidding me? This isn't the first time I've had tech support issues with them. I think they must still be using punch cards or something.
The big reason I subscribe to them is for the trip sheets. If they can't reliably support that, I don't see any reason to keep giving them my money.
Anyone know of any alternatives?

The DOJ challenge to AA/US Air was somewhat surprising. My best guess is that the government wants them to divest some of their hold on DC. But, some writers are theorizing that this is a new push by the government to increase competition among air carriers to lower fares. Part of this push includes allowances for foreign carriers to operate US domestic service. Reporters close to the DOJ released a number of articles in favor of cabotage, which is not their usual cup of tea ... this suggests that staffers are talking up the prospect.
Of course, the DOJ's filing suggests it really does not grasp network traffic flows. It names, and I am not kidding, service between places like Kapaa, HI to Tuscon, AZ. I can't imagine that's a market that will see Emirates A380 shower service any time soon. However, after a momentary giggle at the inept filing of a mostly asleep at the wheel for a decade and a half DOJ, there's a gasp at the fact a powerful Agency is ill informed.
My question; now that the DOJ approved our spend on Virgin Atlantic, is the DOT going to hold up the immunized joint venture, well, because? British and American have about 60% of the US - UK market. It would make sense that our 25% would not be seen as anti competitive, BUT, the DOT "consults" with the DOJ before offering their approval. I would not take anything for granted right now.
Last I heard, Delta Air Lines tabled D-ALPA's opener on the VA JV. We had requested a global production balance (don't know any deets).
Slowplay is good on this stuff. He does not engage in a lot of speculation, but it would be interesting to read his thoughts.
George ... you're our resident expert. What do you think?
