I know, it's about time the mainlines kept the work and let the regionals feel the market strain. Bye Bye 50 seaters....breaks my heart.

Good info thanks! sounds like the DC9s arent the burden that many thought they were.;) They are paid for, offer lots of freedom, cheap insurance, cheap mx, and are fantastic aircraft for the short segments they are used on. They will be replacing lots of 50 seat capacity and that is good for ALL of us. Cheers to that :D

I heard the Shuttle load factor was about 35%. Any shuttle guys confirm this? Also heard that the shuttle was gonna be replaced with Rjs and that the shuttle -88s were gonnna replace other rjs domestically. I would hate to see something as unique as the shuttle go to rjs but thats the rumor.

It sounds like RA's latest plan is to park the -30s, and keep the -40s and -50s. How many of each are in the fleet now?

I'm sorry for your loss (I really am), but bear in mind that in the post 9-11 days, the mainline fleets at both airlines were shrunk drastically, while management grew the RJ fleets dramatically. Many of us at mainline carriers see this as a return of jobs which had been previously subcontracted out.
